I have been waiting for some type of update since Jan 2017. The app does not allow you to complete competitions, so once you have done 5 it won’t allow you to do any more . Basically that makes the competition feature useless. The app also must use a time zone in Asia because it doesn’t track your daily jumps in your own zone. So if you jump at 8:00 am and again at 8:00 pm. , your jumps are calculated on different days . I have email the developer 3 times. First time I got a response, but their fix it ideas didn’t work. The second two emails were ignored . Personally I would not buy the rope again just based on the companies lack of customer support

Using this app to track my jumps with the smart rope. First issue, the app has a hard time keeping count when you exit out of it. For example, if you want to keep pandora open instead of the app, when you go to check your jumps, it’s sometimes wrong. I’ve experienced multiple times, my jumps being counted on the wrong day when I do jumps at different times during the day. It’s like you can only jump one time or something... also, multiple times, the rope has slipped out of my hand because it’s plastic and has no grips, every time, the counter has started over at zero!!! Every time this has happened, my previous jumps prior to the rope dropping are not accounted for. I like the offline feature, when it works. A few times when some of the issues above happened, I would get a message saying my jumps were counted offline and can be added. Right now, my biggest issues seems to be that my dates are not in sync. I just finished jumping and my jumps are listed under yesterday??? Overall, when the app works, it’s great. When it doesn’t, it’s more frustrating than just counting in your head.

First, I have to admit, I am a tech junkie. Buying a jump rope for $79 is proof of that. Nonetheless, after only a couple sessions I see this being a great investment. I love the feedback and tracking. I have not had the chance to use the social competitions yet (for obvious reasons), but the idea is very promising. The iPhone app is well put together and easy to use. This product has the potential of being a five star product. I have knocked some stars off for the sub-par Apple Watch functionality. I have yet to get the Apple Watch app to load and run. I get the spinner (watchOS 3 cannot come fast enough) and then the app icon. Nothing else. The count in mid air is a cool feature, but so far I have only been able to really see it when it is more dark outside than light. That being said, having your phone near you so you can see the intervals solves this problem. Counting in my head is always a possibility, but that defeats the main reason for paying what you pay for this. In the end I will continue to use this product. The company appears to be on top of bugs and issues. I will return to my review as the app and technology mature. I'm the mean time, I feel like a kid again when I jump rope. So that in itself is a great thing, because I would not have thought of buying a jump rope had it not been for this product. That is the price I pay for being a tech junkie. I'm not sure if I have to have my phone with me if I have my watch (the directions do not provide directions for connecting it to the watch). This would be great, but I would need the watch app to work first.

The app is beautifully designed and does the job well.It would be better if backwards jumping was accommodated. Also, the workout data is appropriately entered as "Active Energy" in HealthKit. However, the data should also be entered in HealthKit as "Workouts" in the "Mixed Metabolic Cardio Training" category. The "workouts" section allows calories burned to be entered, and some apps import "Active Energy" but others import "Workouts", and some even import both. Not recording the data as an actual workout in HealthKit is a bit counterproductive.Those two matters aside, the app and device do their job well, it's a worthwhile purchase that I easily recommend.
