My name is Sam and I’ve been a customer and a delivery driver for Chowbus since the day they opened here in Houston on May 8th. The entire experience for me has been extremely rewarding. As a delivery driver, I’ve gotten to see Chowbus take off here in Houston, and I’ve watched with a smile as they’ve grown these last few months. As a customer, I’ve loved being able to learn of foods and try them; foods that had previously never been in my line of sight. I read some articles about Chowbus’ co-founder’s hope that this service would help the American audience get to view, try, and ultimately love authentic Asian food. Personally, I can happily and proudly say that his hope was my experience. I’ve been extremely happy to help be part of a team that delivers food to customers in the local and surrounding areas of Houston. The Chowbus Delivery support team and management have also been amazing. The entire delivery system is simple and easy, the customers have been kind, and management is kind and understanding. Steven, Meilin, Peiting, Debbie, Serena, and Michael to name a few. I have to give a big special thank you to Michael G. He’s been extremely helpful, kind, and understanding since day one of my journey with Chowbus. He’s been able to help me with scheduling and other small problems that have arisen when delivering. This is my go to food/grocery delivery app! We are about one hour away from Houston and due to COVID we can’t go to Houston as often as usual. Luckily Chowbus deliever food and grocery to out town! Can you imagine how much this make our lives more convenient?!! I can’t thank enough to the people who operate the chowbus platform and the drivers who make this happened!! The most amazing part is that you can order from 3-4 different restaurants at once and only pay one time service fee and have those food delivered to you within one order! And even better thing is if you are a member delivery fee is waived and there is a 10% off of your order. I remember once I ordered from 4 different restaurants. And within a few hours my table is filled with all different kinds of delicious food! Seriously people I ordered from FOUR different restaurants! At that point I didn’t have boba milk tea for like 2 months and when it gets to my hand it’s still ice cold! If someone ask me to define what happiness is I would say this is what I call happiness and satisfaction. One thing to mention, Chowbus bundled restaurants for you and I think they choose the ones that are close to each other and in the same plaza. So it’s not like you can order any food from any restaurants that you like but that does not prevent me from giving it a five stars! In fact I joined their membership without a heart beat. It’s no brainer. Monthly membership fee is $10 and one time delivery fee is like $4. So if you order 3 times a month it’s already worth it. Experience of ordering food in Chowbus is also beyond excellence. Not like the other food delivery app, Chowbus offers good image of the food so when you order you know exactly what it looks like! Can’t speak enough of how excellent this app is. I just love it!

Everything was great until today

When I have problem and need to contact customer service, this is when I think bad about this app and service. I accidentally placed an order (or I would say a kid played with my phone and accidentally hit place order button). I contacted their customer service immediately to ask them cancel before the restaurant make it. The Chowbus said they contacted the restaurant but they cannot cancel my order. So I ask them for the number of the restaurant to ask them to cancel my order. The lady at the restaurant said they don’t see any cancel button on their screen although they wanted to help me, they couldn’t. I then contacted the Chowbus customer service and they said they will call the restaurant to confirm if the restaurant can cancel it for me. After that, they got back to me and said the restaurant refused to cancel my order. I feel weird because I already talked to them...I then contacted the restaurant again and the lady (that I talked to at the beginning) said she only received the first call from Chowbus (the time when I first contacted them) and then she didn’t receive any call from them like they said they will contact to confirm or whatever?! What is wrong here? Anyway, I received the order because I don’t want to cause trouble to anyone but to be honest, this will be the last time I use their service. The person I chatted to on Chowbus seems don’t want to help and they just say that I can cancel with the button but I DIDN’T SEE IT. If I could cancel myself, I wouldn’t have contacted you. That’s it.
Terrible service and food never delivered on time

I had this terrible experience that my order was late for almost 2 hour and when I finally got it, 1 item was missing....the customer service was completely helpless. After a very messy, tedious and rude conversation, they didn’t solve the problem at all. After waiting for 2hs and no ETA provided, the customer service suggested me to pick up the order by myself...seriously, I really don’t get this. I told them I wouldn’t be able to pick up the order the. they suggested to cancel my order....I mean, I kind of get it, but could you, the customer service, at least to try to solve the problem like call the restaurant and communicate with them? And this is not the end of my nightmare. About 4hs later, I finally got my food, and found out one item was missing!? They didn’t inform me anything! Can you imagine after 4hs waiting and you still don’t get all your food delivered! And the only response they had for this completely messed up order was a $5 credit, available to use in my next order. Do you seriously think I gonna use the service again after this terrible experience? Except all the aforementioned experiences, I don’t feel any special of being a paid member of them. They just don’t know how to value their customers...time means nothing to them. If you don’t value your time and wanna your day be ruined, go ahead and get this app. Otherwise try other food delivery service.
