• Know when and where rain is likely
• Pick the right kit before you leave
• Plan long rides and multi-day tours around changing conditions
FIND THE BEST RIDE
Choose the best ride and start time based on the forecast. Epic Ride Weather compares your routes and past rides to find the most favorable weather conditions for the day you want to ride, so you can make the most of the weather.
WEATHER ALONG YOUR ROUTE
Weather can change a lot over four hours and 100 km (60 miles). A city forecast can't tell you about the headwind or a 10 degree temperature drop by the time you crest the climb at 11 am.
Epic Ride Weather combines your route and expected pace to forecast temperature, feels-like temperature, wind, precipitation, and more, at the time you'll reach each part of your route.
UNDERSTAND THE WIND
See wind speed and direction along your route, relative to the way you're riding. Know where the headwind starts, where you'll get a tailwind, and which way to ride the loop.
FIND THE BEST TIME TO RIDE
Compare start times throughout the day. Two hours can be the difference between a soaking and a dry ride, or between a strong headwind and a calm evening.
AIR QUALITY ALONG YOUR ROUTE
See the Air Quality Index along your route, with details on individual pollutants. See where air quality is worst and when conditions improve, especially when wildfire smoke is changing with the wind.
USE THE ROUTES YOU ALREADY HAVE
Connect to Strava, Ride with GPS, Komoot, Garmin Connect, Trailforks, MapMyRide, Plotaroute, and Runkeeper, or open a GPX, FIT, or TCX file.
You can also forecast Strava Segments to see which of your favorites have the wind behind you today.
Professional teams can connect directly to VeloViewer Race Hub.
BUILT FOR CYCLISTS
Road, gravel, mountain, bikepacking, commuting, racing: anything where you're outside long enough for the weather to change.
Epic Ride Weather is free to download and includes a 30-day trial with 1,000 forecasts, enough for around 30 to 40 rides of 100 km (60 miles).
Continued use requires a monthly or annual subscription. You can subscribe and pay through your iTunes account. Epic Ride Weather has been a lifesaver for me. I like to do a bit of traveling and finding out what the weather will be along my designated route is difficult. (I like longer rides, so it's not as simple as checking the forecast for one location) Using this app has been great because it forecasts the route as you have planned to move through it. It has proven to be fairly accurate, as accurate as most weather forecasting tools are, and since you can update along the way it's easy to see how things are changing. Combine this with your favorite satellite/ radar app and you'll never be fooled by the weather out on a ride again. Finally, there was a recent issue were private routes developed in Strava became unavailable in the app. (Strava initiated the changes) I contacted David and he was VERY helpful in getting the issues resolved. Required the latest app update to fix. Never had a developer more responsive than him! So all in all spend the money! It's worth it if you need accurate weather for a local ride, want to plan for a long route in a new place where you aren't familiar with the weather, and I'm confident if you have any troubles David will get you fixed up!
Indispensable!

I live in the northern Rockies and bike year-round. The weather is tough to predict in the mountains, but technology has made the weather-guessers so much better. The proper application of this technology through Rpic Ride has helped me properly chose my routes and gear and has lead to far more enjoyable rides. This app helps me live by the old adage, “There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing.” I will ride in the wind, but I prefer to let it blow me home. Again, big win here with forecasting direction and magnitude at the precise place and time I will be on my route. Sure, I could pack the kitchen sink every time I ride (and occasionally have to), but this app helps me avoid overpacking. I worry less and ride more.

Essential application for cyclists
ChicagoBrian
Extremely useful application for any cyclist that rides outdoors. Overlays weather data with your planned cycling route, departure date/time and speed. It allows you to make educated decisions regarding what route to take on any particular day, what clothing to wear, and what time to ride. I especially appreciate knowing wind direction and speed. The application is very easy to use and the output is easily shared with your riding partners. I lead a lot of rides with my cycling club in Chicago and always use this app as conditions can change, depending on which direction we travel and who doesn’t want to have the tailwind home….. Well worth the subscription price.

Excellent Support and App

I haven't used Epic Ride Weather very much, but on the occasions that I have, it has been extremely useful. Being able to see the wind directions on the route I intend to ride is the most useful feature for me. I just had a small problem with the app on my iPhone; it said my subscription had expired, even though I had renewed it about two weeks ago on my iPad, and I reached out to David. He responded within minutes and told me how to resolve the issue. Extremely pleased by that! The app is valuable enough to me, that when I renewed, I opted for automatic annual renewals. As a road cyclist, this is an extremely useful addition to my riding 'kit'. Thank you David!
