ACCESS HRA mobile - your benefits on-the-go!
View Case Details and EBT Balances
The Cases section of the app lets you view the current status of your SNAP or Cash Assistance case, the EBT balance for each of your benefits, and any upcoming Recertification dates. You can also track your Fair Fares NYC discount status, your Fair Fares NYC renewal period, or Access-A-Ride status.
View Appointments
The Appointment section of the app lets you view appointments that are upcoming, missed, or completed. It also lets you add a reminder for your appointment to your phone or tablet.
View Payments
The Payments section of the app lets you view upcoming and past payments for your case, such as payments made to your landlord, utility company, or to your EBT card.
Required Documents
The Required Documents section will show you a list of the documents that you need to return to the agency to support an application, recertification, periodic report or special grant request. You can take a photo of each document or select an image from your camera roll straight from this list. Your history of documents that you have uploaded can be seen on the My Uploads screen. Each document will stay on the list for 100 days.
Note: Uploaded documents must be of good quality for the Agency to review. Submitting documents does not mean that your documents prove the eligibility factor. Please visit the My Documents section to check if the Agency accepted the documents you submitted. Only documents that are listed in the My Documents section were accepted by the Agency.
View Accepted Documents
The Documents section of the app lets you view a list of documents the Agency received from you about your case. Each document that you submit and is accepted by the Agency stays on the list for 60 days from the date it was accepted.
Profile Information
The Profile section of the app provides you with the contact information and notification preferences you have previously provided to the agency. If you have a CA or SNAP case, you can only update your profile every 24 hours. If you are only a Fair Fares NYC client, you can update your profile as often as you need.
Additional Information
You can also get real-time notifications on your smartphone about your case, such as when your case ‘Recertification’ is due, confirmation of an online application submission, upcoming appointments, required documentation and E-notices.

I’m so grateful for this app bc I can give any document needed . I live with HIV/ depression/ anxiety. Osteoarthritis/nerapahthy. Sometimes it’s difficult now bc I’m getting older & living with this HIV & osteoporosis arthritis has gotten worse with menopause . I try my best to comply with any info needed or if need to be seen. It’s been a while I haven’t had a home visit from my case worker. I pray this yr we will not have rent arrears due to Hasa not paying correct amount . This has been happening 2X in a row . The 1st time at the end of the case the Jusge said I had 500 and something in credit towards my rent. I was happy but all that stress then to come home and find my husband dead . This was a Bad Truama I experienced and asked myself if only I was home bc at the end It wasn’t my fault the rent wasn’t being paid correctly especially being at GHMC FINACIAL MANEGMANT . To then again the next yr experience rent arrears again & a reminder of how I found my husband of 24 yrs . Pls if your here to help ppl like me and I comply with submitting all documents & reporting any changes pls get the job and info in . I don’t want to experience another rent arrears case back to back a 3rd yr . Thankyou

Horrible app

Basically same thing going In person it takes 72hrs to post documentation on applying and recertifying applicat ion is always under maintenance customer support for HRA over the phone on this application is useless as they don’t know whether to advise clients to bring in documentation or to upload after uploading documentation supposedly states all documents uploaded will be shown here for 100 days doesn’t even show documents I uploaded after uploading them it says we will send you a notice in the mail about receiving documentation if you have a deadline to submit documentation per day Nov 12th those documents should be able to upload and send same day it delays benefits issuance it can cause a case to be closed for simply failing to submit documentation and then verifying whether the documents have been sent is impossible as it takes 3 days to confirm if they received it this application needs to be improved with the aforementioned grievances. I rate this app a 1 it’s basically the same as going in person to apply for SNAP benefits

Single parent

I was a 6 years sober single gay man living in NYC living my life with nobody else to think about but myself. My family are from the Tohono O’Odham Nation. Which is located in Sells Arizona which is an Indian reservation about an hour outside of Tucson Arizona. Out of nowhere, my brother passed five years ago, my sister goes into court to pay an unpaid parking ticket and gets arrested because there’s a bench warrant out due to a forgotten about unpaid fine from something that happened years back. So simultaneously I become a single parent to my 8 year old nephew. As a means of taking care of myself I am a makeup artist here in New York. I’ve been doing it off & on for years. I can make my own schedule and the money is enough to cover my expenses. But not enough to take care of myself and a child. I had no idea how hard becoming a father would be. Coming from a Indian reservation where all medical care is provided by the government and on the reservation itself. To having to access it for a child in Manhattan has been the biggest feat of my life and a huge challenge. But the HRA App has made it so much easier for me and been a blessing especially since I have ZERO family and ZERO help here in NYC. My mom sends what she can from out of state, but other than that I’m completely on my own with School, Soccer, tutoring, extracurricular activities, bills, clothes that Edward is growing out of every few months, and three years of waiting on a list for a specialty program to see a child psychiatrist for his med management for his ADHD meds, THEN three months of having to pay $325 for this medication because the insurance wouldn’t cover it. Plus keeping enough food in the house to keep up with a growing boys appetite, surviving a pandemic, all whilst taking good care of my mental health, being a good parent keeping a strong program and trying to go back to school, this App has played a huge hand in helping me parent my child. And I am forever in gratitude
Super convenient!

Long gone are the days of waking up at the crack of dawn to go to the office just to apply for assistance, or waiting hours on long lines just to submit recertification documents (something that usually takes about 10 minutes to do). I appreciate the continuous improvements made within the app!One thing I would like to suggest is changing the way documents are uploaded. Instead of having the blue box at the top of the screen list out all of the documents you need to submit, having a list that’s clickable - which would allow the user to easily keep track of what documents they need to submit - would greatly improve this process. Once they’ve submitted the document, that row can be highlighted green to confirm submission. It can avoid someone accidentally tapping the wrong category and submitting the wrong document, and it would help the user keep track of any remaining documents they would need to submit.Aside from that, the app is great! And definitely a huge time saver.
