Easy to Use but Needs Clearer Pickup Instructions

I recently used the Food Lion app to place a grocery pickup order and overall, I found the experience quite positive. The app is very user-friendly and provides multiple notifications via email, text, and push notification, which is helpful to stay updated. However, finding the actual pickup location was a bit challenging. I arrived at 2:00 PM for my 2:00-3:00 PM pickup slot and notified the app that I had arrived. By 2:15 PM, I was unsure if I was in the right place, so I called the store. The employee who assisted me was very helpful and promptly brought my groceries out to me. One concern I had was after the checkout process; the app reverted to a Boston location even though I am in Delaware. Fortunately, the pickup was correctly scheduled for my local store. While the app is easy to use, I would appreciate a more specific timeline for picking up orders rather than the current one-hour window. This would help make the process smoother and more predictable. Overall, a good app with some room for improvement regarding pickup instructions and timeline specificity.

This app has never been great but since the switch from food lion to go to combine the apps into one, it has gotten worse. If you want to find an item, you need the exact terms. The app isn’t smart enough to give you similar items. For example, I like the refrigerated queso but if I type “queso” in the search bar, it doesn’t show up because it’s actually called “cheese dip”. This is not a stretch and food lion should show me the cheese dips even if I type queso. Also, the chat with your shopper feature is delayed for pickups. I don’t usually get notified anything is out of stock until they are already done shopping so I can’t discuss substitutes and I just get surprised at the store when half my order isn’t available. The chat link also glitches a lot. The text feature was better and it can be quite cumbersome to get the chat link to open.There is also a significant delay in prices and ads updating weekly. I like to place a grocery order in the app for pickup. But if I want a Wednesday pickup and I want Wednesday sales, I have to wait for all the prices in the app to update. Even though ad took effect at midnight last night, now at 7am, my app is still showing last week’s prices so I can’t place my order yet. Not sure why it’s so slow to update. So many bugs and problems with this app

I use the app often, mostly before I go shopping I go and clip coupons (so simple!) and see what the weekly specials are. One of the most useful features of the app is the ability to lookup what aisle in a specific store an item is. I’ve used that a dozen times at least. Overall I love the intuitive layout of the app! Suggestion: Under the ‘Shop’ tab -> then ‘Past Purchases’ -> add a filter where a user can filter by a specific date range with a subtotal of all purchases in that date range. Purpose would be to help users get a better snapshot of their monthly spending. The current listings when looking under ‘Past Purchases’ show a list of individual items with their individual prices over a large date range (current options are ‘All Time’, Last Order’, ‘3 Months’, ‘6 Months’). I’d like to see an ‘Overall subtotal’ (money spent) paired with a specific date range filter. Thanks!

Dear APP Developer: First let me say the revised app as of 6/1/23 is MUCH better than the previous one! We can actually read and SEE the product details now, whereas before, the product descriptions were SO tiny, could barely see/read anything! Here’s what needs improvements, please fix asap: 1) Can’t see or access MVP card # to scan because you have a big blue box over the MVP card area. Ow have to click big blue box in order to see/acces/scan MVP card. This is not user-friendly! Please add MVP card access @ top of Food Lion app the way it was previously for easier access! 2) Where did the MVP coupons go? Previously could see weekly + MVP coupons. Now cannot find where to see or download MVP coupons? Please add MVP coupons back to the app or explain where to find them?! 3) PLEASE add FACE ID capability for login so users can more easily login using face ID instead of manual password (each time you log us out)! Thanks for making the above changes!
