I have a Tapo door contact sensor and a camera to help provide some security when I’m away. I love that this app has so many features and automations and doesn’t try to up-charge you at every turn. You can set your cameras to record to an SD card and access the recordings from the app. Cloud storage is optional and not as expensive as competitors if you want it. You can also set home and away modes for all of your Tapo devices so they can behave differently based on which mode you select. For example, your home profile can set all of your cameras to privacy mode if you wanted. You can also control when you get notifications from sensors. I have mine set to notify me whenever triggered but you can just set a specific time range to monitor too. Another cool feature is that your Tapo devices can talk to and trigger each other. If you leave the house in the morning and your door sensor is triggered, you can set it up so that your cameras automatically exit privacy mode and start recording. The app is very detailed, well thought out, and deserving of its high praise!

I bought this camera to watch my kittens whileMy husband and I are at work. We have two dogs who have never been around such small kittens so we just wanted to keep a watchful eye on the kitty’s. We put them in our empty guest room and use this camera to peek in. One of the kittens does not use the litter box properly every time and one of them doesn’t get a lot of food bc he is pushed out of the way. This camera has allowed us to have such peace of mind when leaving our newly adopted babies. The quality is great and even the night vision is amazing!! I love the amount of features the camera offers and is so nice to be able to move the camera around to see the entire bedroom! Something our others camera do not have! Definitely will be buying a couple more of these for our house soon!!! If you’re debating on buying it, just buy it. You will NOT be dissatisfied!! Amazing quality and provides such peace of mind 🐈‍⬛🫶🏻

I set up my cameras just before leaving the country and i use the cameras to view my house every once in a while from a different country. For some reason just today i went to check out the cameras and to my surprise it says network unstable. Couldnt figure out what was going on, i uninstalled the app and tried to relogin only to find out that my cameras are nowhere to be found anymore. Now i have cameras just dangling as decorations. Word of advice. If youre like me who tries to keep an eye on their property from a different country, dont uninstall the app cause youre definitely gonna lose those cameras. And theres no way of being able to reconnect to the cameras without having to be in front of the cameras physically. And im not spending thousands of dollars just to reconnect. So yeah was a great app until now. Just went through the reviews and one other person has a similar problem to what i have. If true, the recent update might be the issue and should be fixed. Cant believe this happened just because of an update.

I have owned Kasa Smart cameras for years and they are great but, they never offered an outdoor wireless camera. Tapo has one, the C425, and it is a great little camera. I bought some and downloaded the app and added my Kasa Smart cameras. The app has so much more functionality that the Kasa app like, smart functions that will turn on your cameras when you leave and turn them on when you return home, having your cameras inside come on at a certain time and go off at a certain time which is great when you go to bed. My one gripe so far is the video clips that you can save to your phone. They download fine but, if you try to crop them down to pull out some of the background they will no longer play. I never had this problem with the Kasa app downloads. I believe that Tapo encrypts them somehow and that removes the ability to modify. Strange but very unhappy about that.Get it fixed TP-Link and I will give you 5 stars!!!!
