I went through two therapist. The first one was fine but she kept canceling and she said she’ll call me back to reschedule and never did. The second one was just rude. She contacted me at 8 at night pressuring to confirm for the appointment when it wasn’t time yet. When I ask her to please contact me during normal hours, not only she snapped at me, she said she’s dropping me as a client. You’re expecting someone to help you? Don’t Plus that got issues with billing and they tried to charge me instead of waiting for my insurance to come through. Do not use them. You’re better off using better health or find something in your area to help you.

I used Sondermind a few years ago and at that point in time it was fine. They took my insurance, my therapist was good, and it wasn’t too expensive for me to afford (because they took my insurance). I took a little break which ended up being a year or two and when I came back to this app it all went down the drain. First of all the therapist I got matched with sucked, our sessions were supposed to be 30 minutes and none of them went over 10. On our third meeting she had completely forgotten we had any sessions together at all, didn’t even remember my name. Ignoring all of that though while I was making appointments I made sure to check that Sondermind still took my insurance which it seemed like they did. Fast forward a few months and all of a sudden they’re trying to charge me $685. I was so confused because my appointments before weren’t even $100. I had talked with a therapist 3 times and that’s how much they’re trying to charge me. They failed to disclose to me that they didn’t take my insurance anymore until after I had taken 3 sessions. If I knew they were going to try to charge me that much I wouldn’t have scheduled any appointments through this app. They didn’t email me that they didn’t take my insurance until months after I had already stopped going to see the therapist so imagine if she was actually good and I kept going to her. This app is a complete scam and they just want to drain you of every last penny they possibly can.
Not for me

I downloaded this app as it was recommended to me by a friend (plot twist: got recommended the wrong app) and so far it’s been a mess. I made an account and saw I was “matched” with therapists, so I skimmed through the whopping total of 8 providers the app gave me. None of them were relevant to what I was seeking therapy for; one of them specialized in PPD and motherhood and I don’t even have kids. I tried to view other therapists, but it literally would only let me view the 8 therapists the app “matched” me with. My biggest issue though I have is that the app automatically sent my information to those therapists I was “matched” with, so now I’m getting text messages, phone calls, and in-app messages to set up appointments when I never even wanted to see these providers nor are they relevant to anything regarding what im seeking therapy for. So obviously, I got overwhelmed. I went to delete my account, it seems fairly simple and straight forward to do as the button that says “delete my account” is easy to find. But, surprise, the app won’t let you delete your account! No matter what choice I selected on why I’m deleting my account, it still stands and I just get a message saying “Thank you!” every time I try to delete my account. So yeah. Overall this has not been my cup of tea. Happy for those that are happy with this platform but if you’re new to therapy like I am this is not the best place to start. I rated the app a 2/5 because I did enjoy the app interface and accessibility of it, but everything else is a nightmare.
Deleted my account and that didn’t stop the frustration

Beware— providers can make appointments even after you remove them from your care team and explicitly tell them that you are establishing care with somebody else. I deactivated my account as I wanted switched to a place that my insurance covered completely. Lovett Ndubisi was able to schedule an appointment for me that I never knew about nor consented to. She had previously made an appointment for me I could not attend and did not agree to and I wrote to her not to do that again. The NP was able to schedule an appointment after I had removed from my provider care team and notified in writing via the app messenger that I would not be continuing care with her 2 months prior to my no-show appointment. I notified her in may that i was leaving Sondermind, account deactivation applied for immediately and email confirmation of deletion 6/4, and she attempted to bill no-show for appt 7/10. Even after account deactivation and paying all bills in full, your credit card remains on your account. The app was smart enough to reject attempts at a no-show billing on my deactivated account. But I feel uncomfortable my credit card remains billable and the customer service agent doesn’t have authority delete the credit card info on a deactivated Sondermind account.I cannot log into my deleted acccount but still get emails about “check in” questionnaires (which tipped me off about the unethically scheduled appointment). Customer service via is a quick response bot and the customer call line is hard to find on the website for if you have problems. The humans in customer service are kind. Romona was amazing and knowledgeable when handling my billing concerns.
