IN THE NEWS
“A full-on RPG, complete with character progression, inventory management, and NPC interactions ... The character development and combat systems find that sweet spot between being too simplistic to matter and becoming a bloated distraction.” – Gamespace.com
“Untold RPG is a really solid and convenient package. It delivers feelings of grand adventure while allowing you to experiment and explore, and it does this pretty much all through text. It may not satisfy folks looking for a flashier, more action-packed experience, but Untold's restraint is exactly what makes it so impressive and refreshing.” – 148apps.com

Really enjoyed it!
This gave me fun flashbacks of “choose your own adventure” books when I was a teenager, 35 years ago. I could easily see this developer coming out with a series of these games with different stories, plots, and characters. Even different genres. This game has a medieval setting but in a fictional world. But they could easily do SCIF-Fi, modern-day stories, period pieces, etc. (WW1, WW2, Cold War, European history, etc.). This could be a whole new genre of video games in the App Store. They could create fictional characters which lived during famous historical events, and develop fictional side-plots that were happening alongside the major historical events. One of the best things about this game is it uses your own imagination. You become immersed, but in your own imagination. The artwork is more impressionistic instead of High Definition, so it allows a lot of room for the story to come alive in your own mind, just like reading a book or listening to radio theatre. And the coding is much simpler, so the development time should be much shorter and less expensive moving forward. I think they are onto a great idea here. I hope they make many more. I was left with the feeling like I read a good book. A very nice change from stereotypical video games. Well done guys!
Unsatisfactory last fight
I have had this game for a time, and I can say ive been a fan of roleplay my entire life. Anything from text based to small stories I am a fan of. But I found the fighting mechanics hard to get behind, anything from button mashing to watching the meter seemed to give the same results. At the end, I had very close stats to the final boss and ended up leaving the game alone until it uninstalled itself from my phone game countless deaths and problems. I don't believe it was greatly balanced, of course a boss is a boss but everything else seemed to be a breeze for me. When I finally reinstalled it and decided to finish the fight I was a little let down to find out it was the ending to the story, only some paragraphs about the character you played. I found it annoying that based on what ever final choice you made would dictate how your character felt against your will. I would have much rather enjoyed walking back to towns, or meeting with other Npcs and slowly closing off the game. But nonetheless the story was well paced and practical. I gawked at the digital painting as a digital artist myself and replayed saves to find my way around conserving items. My only word of advice is to take this as a short story, and binge it to completion. The ending is small, and maybe a let down but the journey I still enjoy.
Developer Response ,
Thank you for your feedback. This was our very first ever game (we're amateurs!) and we've learned a lot. The reason why the ending can feel abrupt is simple: We didn't want to postpone the release of the game for too long, being already behind schedule, and not knowing if even a single person would ever play the game. We're currently working on the next game in the same series, and I hope you'll enjoy it more. We're hoping to include endings that relate more to actions taken in the whole course of the game, a new combat system, and a longer story. Stay tuned! (i.e. follow us on FB/Twitter or connect on Discord) Best regards, Adam
This is such a cool game!
There are a couple aspects that made me enjoy the game, first of all NO ADS. The game is only 5$ for the entire game, and it is definitely a smart move made by the devs Rather than spamming the game with ads. When a game has ads it makes the gameplay so much less... admirable. Every developer has to have a way to make money and this was the best approach.
The gameplay itself is great as well, its a great and balanced game that is full of challenges! Rather than just winning every match you have to play with strategy and think about every move. Another cool aspect is the variety, there are different play styles for every body and for example you could be a brute with lots of health and dmg or a stealthy and agile character. If your a new player i have one tip for you, upgrade your perception at least a little, by doing this you can find extra content and find more secrets. All in all one of the best games ive ever played.
