I had a Moen Flo installed a few weeks ago. It was immediately apparent that the app had not undergone appropriate testing or review. First, the temperature is reported as degrees Fahrenheit but the actual temperature reported is always below 32, so I can only assume that the temperature is actually reported in Celsius. The app frequently requires logging in again. It also has gaps in reporting water flow and pressure. The temperature reporting appears continuous, however, as an example, when I logged in yesterday, it showed 0 as the pressure got the past 4 days and zero usage over the same timeframe. This lack of reporting artificially lowers the average pressure and daily use and underreports the actual usage substantially, so if you are using this to monitor when filters need to be changed, it is not reliable. I also noticed that it was reporting no micro leaks yet it was showing 0.2 gpm of “other usage, with no leaks, no running toilets and no dripping sinks, this made me question the reliability of the data. This product has been on the market long enough to work out issues with the app. It was disappointing to say the least that I paid over $700 for this and I don’t know if the equipment is even working properly or if the app is complete garbage. I expected better from Moen and I hope that you will work to rectify these issues. The product is useless if it doesn’t work with the app.
Hello Bird watcher1. We appreciate your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your experience. The temperature in the Moen Smart Water app shows the outdoor temperature of your location, not the temperature reading within the valve body itself. If the app is automatically logging out, please reinstall the app and confirm Background App Refresh in your Settings app is enabled for the Moen app. If your Flo Shutoff was offline, this could cause gaps in data for when the device was offline. If you feel the notification sensitivity for the MicroLeak Tests is too low you can adjust this in the Moen Smart Water app under the Flo Shutoff’s settings, tapping on MicroLeak Test, and then changing the MicroLeak Test Drip Sensitivity towards Most Sensitive. Most Sensitive means that it will notify you if it detects the smallest drips like a pinhole leak. If you have any questions or experiencing any issues, please do not hesitate to contact us directly at smarthome@moen.com or 1-800-289-6636.
