Caveat Emptor - it’s only a display and it’s unstable
pain points
I thought this would keep me from buying a heart rate chest strap and let me use my Apple Watch as a HRM. What this does is push your heart rate to a data field on your garmin. That’s it. What it doesn’t do is let Garmin use that heart rate data to calculate other metrics. Also, it’s finicky - it would often cut out the transmission mid ride, and if you don’t have it as the “top app” it won’t broadcast at all. So all in all … I’m now shopping for a heart rate chest strap.
Developer Response
Sorry to hear that the app didn’t meet your expectations. The limitation you mentioned is due to Garmin’s system—heart rate data from external apps isn’t treated as native because Garmin doesn’t allow developers to push HR data directly into FIT files. As for background communication, this is a relatively new feature, and we are actively working on improving its stability. We appreciate your feedback and are continuously working on enhancing the experience. If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out to us via email—we’d be happy to help!

Fail
Gillgirl9
I downloaded the app and bought 1 month subscription to give it a good try. I read that it couldn’t run at the same time as another app. So I deleted ad downloaded on another device and it asked to pay again. So I went back to original device and it is recognizing my purchase. Either refund my 1.99 so I can purchase again, or cancel my subscription. Why does this app have to be so difficult.JQ
Developer Response
Gillgirl9, the app is free to try, which allows you to test your setup before buying. Only Lifetime can be used on a different phone, if you bought a subscription, you need to be refunded first and then you will be able to buy again if you want to. The fact that you have to use a different phone is due to the Bluetooth technology itself : a Bluetooth device cannot connect to itself, so we have no other choice... I invite to contact us per mail 'contact@bipr.fr' to get more help and ask for refund.
Great for zwift
Zappatones
Best way to use Zwift without a power meter. Much better than speed sensor. Just take into account that it has a certain delay since it relies on heart rate and it's not good for sprints. But pretty great overall if you want to use Zwift on a budget.
Developer Response
Thanks for your nice fedback. Enjoy training on Zwift with your heart rate monitor!
