This version of the GMG app has been working well for me so far.It has extras I don’t use but the core functionality works and it automatically connects to my grill every time I open the app with my grill powered on. I even use it in server mode where I used to only use WiFi mode with the legacy app. I even appreciate the new user interface design.I am a long term Green Mountain Grill owner. I have a Daniel Boone Classic and a Jim Bowie Prime+. But I’ve always had regular trouble with the older legacy app. Frequently I would open the app, attempt to connect to either of my grills and end up with the “Grill not found” message. It got to the point where I stopped using the app. I could just as easily turn the grill on using the controls on the grill and I don’t use the built in thermometers. I use a ThermoWorks thermometer with a paired wireless monitor I can carry around up to a 1/2 mile distance.I would only use the legacy app in WiFi mode because server mode was frequently buggy and would lose connection a lot. Server mode in the prime app just works and it connects automatically.Now when I leave I’ll actually use one of the built in temperature probes as a secondary so I can watch the temperature of what I’m cooking over my phone when I’m away from home.Good job on the new app Green Mountain. It does have a bunch of extra features I’ll never use but the core app is actually useful now.

I’ve had my grill a little over a year. The first version of the app did not work very well with my Peak grill and would not connect when I turned it on. This version of the app works great in that aspect. GMG is always updating the app to make the grill operate at its best. I am finally able to set it and forget it which is why I went to a pellet grill to begin with. I look forward to continue using our grill and updating the app whenever it needs it.

I too have had the same issues as other posters regarding the inability of the app to connect with the grill and the runaround trying to deal with customer service. I feel like a ping pong ball going between tech support and WiFi/app support. And I’m still waiting for someone from “upper management “ to help me with this issue. So at this point I’ll be giving this grill away as I don’t feel good about selling it to anyone. Think long and hard before doing business with this company! By way of comparison, I have already replaced the GMG Prime Ledge 2.0 with a Weber Searwood 600 and the experience couldn’t be more different. The update was very easy to complete and the grill has worked flawlessly. And, if you call customer service you talk to a real person. GMG could learn so much from Weber. They can buy as many reviews as they want but the reality is this app is useless. Not only is it very glitchy and slow it has a terrible ui. It also does nothing for you. You can’t set the adjust the fan speed when smoking only cold smoking, you can’t adjust the amount of smoke, and the app doesn’t stay connected to the grill once it is closed. The app doesn’t send you a notification when you have a timer set or your food is getting close to being done. it disconnects if you close the phone or switch to a different app. It also sometimes doesn’t connect to the smoker all together. There is no point to adjusting the slider for temperature. It literally does nothing and is a waste of time. It doesn’t affect the fan speed. All together a very bad app
