Stages Cycling is authentic cycling.
The Stages cycling app has recently become unpredictable with the SB20. Troubleshooting information online is helpful only up to a point. Tech support line only has a message that states no one is available. Has tech support for SB20s stopped? Curious minds with expensive Stages bikes would like to know. With all of the Apple watches and Apple TVs out there, please update the app to pick up apple watch heart rate and fix the bluetooth sensitivity issues the app apparently has.
The Best
MichaelCycles
For those that know, the qualities that the Stages app and Dash L200 offer makes cycling an improved experience in terms of maximizing performance. Want a metric to follow on your ride? Stages has you covered. Want perfect GOS turn to turn on your climb and descent? Yep. Want expert analytics for post ride and workout planning? Indeed. Honestly, this is just another level of experience when it comes to cycling tech. I’m sure that Tour riders get another level of tech, but as a mere mortal, this is as good as it gets.
Good app that works well with bike
Rikkon K
It’s a bit cumbersome to get the format of how this works but my only real complaint is there seems to be no way to change the stock photo at the top of the workout where I might want a snapped photo from Zwift from that work out. Don’t really want to see someone I don’t know in a house I don’t know as part of my workout.
Poor device connection
duncdog10
I want to praise this app for what it does, however the device connectivity is bafflingly poor. For example I can connect my phone to a stages studio bike via Bluetooth, but the app will fail to connect to the same bike. The same is true with my heart rate monitor: connected to my phone via Bluetooth, but the in app connection fails. I don’t want to disconnect and re-pair my devices every time I go for a workout, with no guarantee that it will even resolve the problem.
New features:
New Ride page: The indoor riding page has been completely redone
Connect your existing sensors (from the Devices page) or pair temporary sensors from the ride page and update them within a ride.
Redesigned ride gauge and workout feature
Landscape mode is supported for all devices while in-ride
Fitness page: The fitness page is back and tracks your T-score for all rides uploaded to your Stages account.
SB200 manager: Support added for the new SB200 smart bike
Improvements:
New look and feel for the entire app.
New onboarding process.
Support for 7 zones on the ride gauge and time in zones charts.
In-app rides are now saved if uploading is not available and will upload automatically once your device has an internet connection again.
Improvements to the SB20 bike manager.
Smart bike profiles are now synced to the cloud.
Ride reprocessing added - this will fix larger power spikes (above 2500 W) and will add a power curve to any rides that have power data, but are missing the power curve or any other power metrics.
Email address can now be changed under Profile> About > Change login email.
Better error messaging for various app errors.
The calendar now remembers its state when backing out of activities instead of refreshing on every page view.
TrainingPeaks workouts now retrieved for the next 30 days instead of 7 days.
Bug fixes:
Fixed issues with syncing profile photo, name, and other user attributes with new V3 API.
Strava rides now correctly show the activity type when uploaded from a Stages Dash.
Apple Health syncing is fixed.
