I’m not the kind of person to leave reviews, but I just can’t not recognize the amazing people at Fig. I’m writing this as someone from southern California after receiving an email about the support they’re providing for those struggling following the numerous fires we’ve been having. These people are genuinely so good. They’re seriously out here doing such amazing work, and they care so much about the people their app is helping. They are also constantly improving upon what is already a fantastic foundation, and every update makes the app even better and makes life so much easier. The communication and support has also been out of this world. I’ve had a lot of questions that I’ve gotten such better answers to from the folks at Fig than some of my doctors. I’ve also recommended this app to a friend of mine who has food sensitivities after they mentioned using a whole spreadsheet to track what foods they can or can’t have. I’m so happy to feel like I have more control over what I eat because all that information is in one place that’s so easy to use and navigate. Navigating low FODMAP elimination/reintroduction (especially while living on a college campus where I can’t always choose what ingredients are in my food) has felt incredibly daunting, tedious, and depressing at times, but Fig has truly been a light in the dark making things so much easier. I would absolutely love a feature to help me track FODMAP intake to make sure I’m not having too much of one trigger, but I’m so happy that this app just exists at all. Thank you so much for all you do and for how much you truly care.

Most of our team lives with dietary restrictions ourselves, so we truly care about making Fig as helpful as possible. LITERALLY THE BEST THING EVER

I am allergic to everything under the sun and struggle so much to eat cleanly cause I always think I’m doing it and then *BAM* allergic reaction. I found this app on tiktok and followed along in the creation process and then downloaded it as soon as possible and lemme tell you it’s amazing. The scan feature? Wonderful. The amount of food? Wonderful. Like an all around 10/10 app. I’ve been able to find so many things I can eat now and it helps so much. I think most people focus on things they “can’t” eat and I think it’s really beneficial that this app shows you only what you “can” eat. In an unexpected feature, it can have great comedic effect sometimes. For example, I am heavily allergic to sunflower to the point where I can’t have anything even slightly made with sunflower oil. I marked it off, along with my other severe allergens, as a “absolutely not” allergen and then wanted to see what kinds of chips I could eat cause I know a lot are made with sunflower oil. I put “chips” in the search bar, no filters or anything on, and the results included a raw potato, a raw carrot, and dried fruit. This was hilarious to me at the time cause I didn’t realize how much stuff I had been eating that I shouldn’t have. Anyways, I hope the team behind this app are blessed forever cause this is life changing for people with allergies.

A comfort and a game changer

I couldn’t say enough good things about how much this app has helped my physical and, more importantly, mental health. As someone with zero experience in eliminating certain foods from my diet, you can imagine how paralyzing a simple trip to the grocery store became after being hospitalized with anaphylaxis and not knowing what caused it. In response to this, I went on a full blown elimination diet to bring things back to basics, but I really had no idea what to look for on food labels to help keep myself safe and I was truly terrified. Then I found this app. Now when I go shopping, I feel empowered and prepared. The barcode scanner is excellent in helping make on the fly decisions about what I can eat. Ordering groceries online has become a breeze thanks to the ease of searching different brands, items, etc. I would highly recommend this app for anyone with food sensitivities, allergies, or dietary preferences. There are literally thousands of ingredients and dietary preferences to choose from, so if there’s something you can’t/don’t eat, I can assure you that you will be able to find it and mark it to be avoided. I’d like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to the developers and all those involved with this app. It’s been a life changer for me. I can’t thank you all enough.
great for me 🪲

The free version took me less than 10 seconds to find and get and I think it’s a really useful tool to find new food products and items that won’t kill you so if you’re anaphylactic to a bunch of different things definitely worth downloading to look for allergy friendly versions of similar items you want to try!!! 🦎I’m anaphylactic to dairy, eggs, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, a bunch of different kinds of legumes, coconut protein, raw bananas, and sesame seeds, and something else I’m forgetting but I know it when I see it, along with being intolerant to a whole lot of other stuff that I shouldn’t eat a main one being wheat, so it can be hard looking for new things I can eat or swaps for things I can’t eat but have always wanted to since I was little but yeah this helps for me, and Idk I saw alot of the 1 star reviews say it’s hard to cancel the paid version/they couldn’t find out how to get the free version/some items and restaurants were mislabeled, but it’s really on you the person to double check things if you have intolerances and are like fourteen or older but it just seems most of the problems ppl are having are are from their own lack of digital literacy tbh…. 🦂
