The previous SolarEdge app had all of the bugs worked out which means it’s time to spit-can that and introduce a new, bug -laden, barely usable app and force installers to move to it or just jump off a bridge or run out in to traffic and end my misery. Do you guys test anything before you force us installers whose livelihoods depend on reliable and time-efficient configuration tools?Just updated the app and it is still just as frustrating as ever. Still “processing” when trying to communicate with an inverter after 30 minutes. Don’t call it SolarEdge Go, call it “SolarEdge Wait while you’re stuck in front of an inverter waiting an hour for it to communicate”

Worst firmware of all solar companies

I’ve been installing several types of systems over the last 6 years and I can say without a doubt solar edge is by far the worst on its firmware as well as its apps and its support teams are extremely unhelpful. Why does this app cost 60% of my battery to set up 1 inverter over a 2 hour process. Your physical product barely competes with the likes of Tesla, Sol Arc and enphase and you have by far the worst app and support please do yourselves a favor and help it’s a pretty embarrassing sign when the homeowner is hovering over me for 2 hours while your app and inverter are not able to communicate or hold a good line of communication great way to give buyer confidence.

About 90% of the time I’m unable to log into inverters for commissioning or service calls. When you call SolarEdge support, they request device logs and even that doesn’t work! It pulls up the logs in file form but won’t allow you to send the email!! It turns out they’ve always been terrible. It’s just in the last five years or so that they are obviously a failing company. Every new update of the app makes something worse or takes something good away. It matches their inverters. Cramming as much as possible into roughly the same size box while being just slightly different to make it time-consuming to swap shows that they don’t really think down the line how it will go for the service techs. I actually hate this company with a passion.
