The one week free trial is the reason this has any stars at all. That was a very smart choice and I now know exactly what to expect which I appreciate. The downfall of this app is it is not big enough. There is not challenging tricks for more advanced jumpers. In the videos Lauren demonstrated she could do a Tj which involves a toad, but not even that is included in the skill map. There could also be a more advanced section where a tj could be taught or even a tj quad or Eb tj quad. Also all power such as frogs and push-ups are missing. I think the footwork was used a little too much while lacking on other vital parts of the sport. As someone working on a tj quint and a frog double down this was simply not the app I needed. After looking back on this, I did forget to mention two key things. First, the app does an amazing job with what it is sent out to do. The tutorials are in depth and well implemented. Second, the app is very easy to use and has room to expand. The whole program is as advertised, and because of the free trial it is sooo much better. Hands down a really good app, just not what I was looking for.
Developer Response
Hey! Thank you for your feedback. The library of skills and combos will continually grow. I would love to cover every jump rope skill straight away but due to the production value and detail in the tutorials on Fancy Feats and the hundreds of skills in the world of jump rope it wouldn’t be feasible. It is also both responsible and logical to prioritise skills based on level, starting with beginner skills and expanding from there. I have also prioritised based on requests from my followers. Ultimately, that is what I’m catering for. I have just filmed 20 new skills and 40 new combos including the toad - which you mentioned. As for the TJ (toad triple under) tutorial, before I can teach this, I will need to introduce basic triple under skills and even the double under toad so members are well practiced and informed before they start attempting TJ drills. Other prerequisites would also be required for a TJ quad or EB TJ quad - 2 skills I’d never seen any of my 2.5 million followers mention before I saw your review. As someone who is learning a TJ quint (where you rotate the rope 5 times in one jump) you are incredibly advanced, which I can only commend you for. I would argue that once you understand the mechanics around individual skills and then turning them into multiples (which you clearly do as someone attempting a quint), a tutorial can only do so much and you would in fact be better off seeking coaching from a competitive level coach. Feel free to drop me a DM if you’d like me to refer you to any :) Thanks again for your review. L x
Worth the money, but maybe not if you’re advanced.

I’m currently on the free trial and going to subscribe for the premium membership because the app is well laid out and designers actually listen to what’s needed. If you read the 1 star reviews, everything from pricing, layout, design; is addressed. I’m an intermediate level jump roper and weigh 250lbs. I come from a martial arts, dancing background. Jumping rope is always one of those things that I always thought that be cool if I had someone to teach me the advance stuff. And the app layouts very well a skills tree to roadmap how to navigate skill progression; there’s a timer to track time so you don’t jump rope too much(which is not healthy); and there are tutorial breakdowns of every move. When you go to the tutorial section it breaks down to basic skills; footwork; and then tricks, which then breaks down into multiple categories. It VERY well thought out and honestly wish more things were taught with this layout. If you’re wanting a break from your cardio or lifting program or want to spice up your jump roping for martial arts or whatever this is the app to get. Private lessons for any instructor in most physical skills are easily more expensive and with this you can go at your pace track your time; and ease into it.
Super fun & effective skill-building!

I came to Fancy Feats after getting comfortable with basic steps using Crossrope and wanting to learn more and challenge myself. This app has been a game-changer in building my skills, ease, and confidence jumping rope! The guided tutorials not only demonstrate each skill but also explain ways to break it down, how to avoid common mistakes, and what to focus on for efficient execution. Besides learning new moves, I find myself revisiting the steps I already know to work on improving my form and fluidity. The skills map is fun to explore, and the combos section is great for putting those new skills into practice. After a couple of months with the app, I now feel able to create my own routines and attempt remixes with others in the jump rope community. Fancy Feats has been so worth the investment for the fun and added fitness it has brought me! I’m also excited Lauren plans to keep adding skills & combos so the app will continue to provide value beyond all that it already includes. So thankful this app exists!
Jump rope tricks made easy ☺️

I’ve had the app for several months now and it is SO much fun! 🥳 I really appreciate how the tutorials show slow motion video with graphics to indicate hand/foot placement, etc! The skills map is motivating — I want to get to the point of doing combos, but I know I need to master the fundamentals first. Yes, the app is expensive. However, I live in an area that doesn’t really have quality gyms, so I wouldn’t be able to progress in learning jump rope otherwise. I also like being able to overcome the awkward learning stages from the privacy of home ☺️ I can easily imagine the costs and leaps of faith it took to develop the app; I’m hoping it will become more affordable once some of those costs have been recouped :) all in all, it’s really worth the cost anyway.
