TASCAM RECORDER CONNECT allows wireless control of the DR-10L Pro, FR-AV2 and AV4 on a smartphone or tablet. The app allows status and waveform monitoring from distance. The TASCAM RECORDER CONNECT is an app that provides remote control up to five units simultaneously. This app enables to check device status and view the recorded waveforms real time for operation confirmation. Names and colors can be applied to individual devices for easy identification. Also, Metadata (project name, scene name, take number) can be recorded in the recording file (BEXT, iXML). ※The AK-BT1/2 Bluetooth adapter (separately sold) is needed to be able to control the unit via the TASCAM RECORDER CONNECT app. For more information on how to connect AK-BT1/2 or how to use TASCAM RECORDER CONNECT, please refer to the instruction manual. ※This app does not support monitoring of the main unit’s input sound. To monitor this, please use the headphones output. Pointless without audio monitoring

Pointless without audio monitoring. Everything about the DR10L Pro implied it was designed to be monitored over Bluetooth. That’s why I bought this lav and the Bluetooth adapter. Why would I want to just view my waveform? And why would anyone monitor a lav wired? This is so bizarre.

Do not buy this recorder if you need to monitor the audio.

This has to be one of the most spectacular money grabs I’ve seen in a long while. Tascam requires you purchase an optional module to add WIRELESS Bluetooth capabilities to the recorder but does not support WIRELESS audio monitoring! You can only see a waveform on the app. The entire thing is half baked and completely useless.
Do not buy this recorder if you need to monitor the audio.

Great companion app to my FR-AV2.. but needs a simple addition of a full screen, clapboard style timecode screen to run the timecode in front of a camera like a digital slate. It has an area for scene, take, etc.. why not just finish the job.

One Star - can’t hear audio

The whole reason to have this app is to be able to hear the audio from the Tascam. Yeah, you can see the waveform but that’s pointless. If you can’t hear what’s going on, why would you have this app without the ability to hear the audio?

Maintenance items -Display misalignment would occur when timecodes for 5 devices were shown simultaneously on the app screen. This has been improved. -The stop button behavior has been updated. During playback, a short press (tap) stops playback. For recording, the stop operation can now be set to either "long press" or "short press" on the APP SETTINGS Screen.
