Great program. Changing from Salon-biz to Vagaro n in only 2 days, we have set up our pricing. Connected buying to several social media accounts, set up a new payment system, added a superior website with all the pricing from the program showing up in details services on the site. Great organization and simple to use. Great marketing tools and very streamlined. Excellent! The online booking has made it so we can run the business without a receptionist for the most part. A few phone calls come in but those are easily answered and handled by other staff. This program has been influential on us making $$$. What we have asked for and hasn’t yet been added: client’s ability to us multiple credit cards for services in a single transaction. Hopefully this in the pipeline, because it is very common for customers to request using more than one source. There are work arounds, but for example if there is a transaction for $100 and client wants to split it between two cards plus tips, the work arounds are clumsy. Should be really straightforward and simple. Over all this is an excellent CRM and management program. Pros outweigh the cons by far. And at the top of this, is responsive customer service. They usually answer calls, and communication via email stays timely.

Use gloss genius instead! This booking system is nothing but problems and the other ladies in my salon who use this also have problems and the ones that use gloss genius don’t. The app is constantly glitching (making appointments and taking payments) and they blame it on my phone when I never have problems with any other app. They charge so much for what they offer. They allow clients to use Google Pay and Apple Pay to put a card on file when booking (a feature I pay extra for) but it doesn’t actually capture card info for these options. So today when I had a no show I couldn’t charge the client because there was no card on file and when I called Vagaro as to why there’s no card on file I was told that their “system doesn’t support those options” and that their “software developers are working on it.” Why would you offer that option if it doesn’t work? You should have that figured out BEFORE YOU OFFER IT. And you can’t opt out of offering those options for payment. So now I’m out money for a problem that is Vagaro’s fault! Are they going to reimburse me that money?? No why would they.. Just another company who has no problem taking your money with no accountability. Horrible! Not to mention for card purchases they charge a flat fee per transaction + a percentage on top of that. They take way too much money from business owners for as many problems as they have. I would not recommend this service and I would switch to gloss genius if I could.

I’m your everyday stylist who is busy with life and working 5-6 days behind the chair, two kids an husband etc. I’m at my 10 year mark and I realized I was getting burnt out from my phone. Some days I’d have anywhere between 20-75 missed texts….yes you read that right. I was drowning in requests, appointment changes, Pinterest pictures, questions etc. After a 12 hour day behind the chair, I’d then go home to my husband and kids and crash before another long day…leaving little time for the most important part….customer service. I had battled wanting to switch to a booking app because I’m a little bit of a control freak but let me tell you the customization available in Vagaro, has literally given me a second set of hands and another brain. My clients can book, change Apts, send their friends my link to refer them to me. It’s cut back on my personal reach outs by about 75-85%……it’s life changing. Client satisfaction has always been the most important to me. And with the demand rising even more I was at a point my people were suffering because I’m a one woman show. But now vagaro took a weight off my shoulders and I will never look back! I’m obsessed, and so are all my clients. Their feedback has been 110% positive and that speaks for itself!

The app itself is great because of its ability to allow for handling of business anywhere you need it. Easy for customers to use and provides many of the necessary tools for providers and owners alike. So many ways to make it applicable to each individual service, class or even the selling of products without being tethered to a desktop server. Some of the downsides, clients are able to make duplicate profiles because other businesses use the same app based product. Clients can easily forget their logins and we don’t have them so they create another. We don’t have the ability to clean duplicates up ourselves as it pertains to our individual business. You must notify the company thus losing some control of the business from a client retention ratio because it isn’t always accurate. Opening a clients ticket and adding products to it and being able to come back later with all the info saved would also be helpful. If you have more than one person working and products are sold it can cause confusion as to what has been rung up and what hasn’t. Just some things to consider. I’ve used it for 10 years though and I must say it has served me and my business well. 4/5 stars because it does deserve a closer look if you are considering it.
