Bakery Story 4+

This game has been a favorite of mine for years. I loved the creativity of others and how cute everything is. However recently the app has become annoying. The ads used to bug me but now I feel like I’m not always bombarded by them. I’m happy to say that the app no longer crashes for me. The major issue I have right now started with the recent update from a few weeks ago. Full screen support was added. This, I had no problems with. Except for one thing. When you visit a neighbor, the star rating bar used to be in the bottom center of the screen. Now it’s been moved to the bottom left. This wouldn’t be an issue except that now the star rating bar covers the Menu button that is in the bottom left of the screen. Idk if that’s just a problem for iPhone users but it’s quite aggravating and it makes tipping neighbors a hassle since it’s so hard to click the menu button now. I hope the developers see this and fix the problem. Everyday it bugs me and I’m just about ready to quit the app. It would be sad for me to leave since I love the app but this problem is very annoying.

I have been a fan of this app for a few years now. I have always loved it. It took me a bit to figure out how to time everything to finish the goal but somehow I have learned to master it, most of time. This past year I started counting how many pop up screens would show up when first accessing the app. The most has been 7 before you can even start playing! I think that’s a bit much. But while you start playing, some more promoting the game of the week pops up and if you are in the middle of something the next thing you know you’re on your way to the App Store to not download an app. What happen to the days where you saw the app on the side of the bakery and if you want it you click if you don’t, you don’t? Now things are way worse where as your starting to clear your baked goods you are forced to watch the same ad for the same app every time you are clearing the baking items. Why? I sometimes only have a few minutes to play on a break and i am stuck watching videos of an app that I don’t want and waiting for 7 pop ups to pass before I can do anything. Make it stop! I understand that the company is probably paid for advertising but must we watch it every time we enter the app? Every time? Ugh! I think it’s a great app but there are some things that are not enjoyable and I don’t know if anyone is really going to read this to do anything about it.

I played this game for the first time about ten years ago, and I loved it. Designing the bakery and the fun food and stuff. I had some complaints then and most of them are the same ones as now. Gifting takes too long and it’s basically impossible to find the items you want. Food can’t be moved to different counters so you have to keep ones in even if you want to change them. Once you get to level 99 you might as well quit because you will never get the 100 million xp to get to level 100.
Through the years you had more time for goals, the ovens were less parts to create, and you didn’t have to make as many things during the goals. Unless you spend real money to buy gems you basically can’t complete the goals anymore. Thats super lame.
Whats really annoyed me is that while all the problems are bad, they have been around for years, and storm8 has an active forum where people have given these complaints for years and nothing has changed. They heard all the problems and don’t care what the players think they just want us to watch ads and pay money. I’m really sick of it.
1 ☆ for nostalgia, 1 ☆ because designing your bakery is still pretty fun, otherwise this game has really disappointed me. I think I actually have to quit, it’s just not fun and relaxing anymore. Don’t download this game you’ll just waste your time and it won’t even be entertaining.
