In this day and age the one thing we as consumers are not lacking is options. What there is a shortage of however are honest companies, businesses and owners that actually care about the two most important things that are responsible for the fate of any business. As these two components can always be found in every successful venture. Customers and image of brand/name. The problem with 7-11 is they have just gotten too big, too wide spread with too many individuals trying to make a buck that they have absolutely 0 ability to make sure the integrity of the “brand” is being protected. So what starts happening is you get situations where a lifelong customer reaches out to corporate regarding something small like being overcharged on refills and corporate assuring this customer that the store will be made aware and that the prices set by corporate will be honored (bless their hearts they actually think they have any real authority) and offer a most sincere apology. Only in reality what happens is owner has taken a sharpie and crossed out the corresponding Oz and price. So now they can’t be accused of false advertising. Unfortunately it has made corporate 7-11 out to be liars. So as a result of this ongoing situation over the last year and however many emails (and lets face it, their rewards program is average at best) I will no longer be a loyal customer of 7-11. In fact, unless there is no other option, 7-11 will never get another penny from me.

to whom it may concernOn multiple occasions, I have entered different locations without having my cell phone to be able to use discounting that is applied. I am aware that entering my phone number at the point of sale should apply the same discounts because my phone number is tied into my apps of reward. Unfortunately, this is not the case for pumping gas, or receiving discounts on items, such as beverages from the fountain, although the modest $.30 difference( large beverage drink in this example) most people would scoff at for me, it is the principle of the advertisement that coincides with the use of the app. I was told on more than one occasion that it was the computers. Obviously, I am not blaming the rep/cashier at the point of sale. However, once the difference has been acknowledged that the discount did not apply, I do think that the right thing to do is to correct the error at the point of sale, instead of overcharging, shrugging your shoulders and asking if i wanted to continue with transactions. I hope this message falls on the correct set of ears and it is used for education and possibly correcting the computer errors so reps don’t have to give a customer A DUMB look and not be able to problem solve.

They blew it with hot dogs
Hot dog blues
7-eleven used to have the BEST hot dogs. Then the pandemic hit. No more hot dogs off the grill. Instead you got a plastic bag with a mushy cold bun and dog. You’re expected to microwave it yourself. I didn’t just come all the way to 7-11 for a MICROWAVED hot dog. I can get Oscar Meyer and microwave them at home. They won’t taste good, but neither do the microwaved hot dogs from 7-11. Then they took away the mustard and relish pumps. They want you to squeeze inferior vinegar tasting mustard and relish from these tiny packets where most of it ends up left in the packet or mostly on your fingers. For that reason you need about 7 or 8 packets to get enough mustard and relish on the hot dog. And it doesn’t taste the same as the pump relish and mustard. Then, in order to pay, no matter how many napkins you use trying to get all that mustard off your hands, you can’t… not until you get home and wash them. So you get mustard all over your steering wheel, all over your cash or phone trying to pay. And all this for a soggy microwaved hot dog. You guys lost all my business during the pandemic and you’re not getting it back. No more drinks or brownies or cookies or ice cream. No more lottery tickets, hostess cupcakes. The hot dogs were the draw. That’s what brought me in. The pandemic was over, but your new customer service procedure was not. Besides, you NEVER got Covid from touch. Only from breathing. I hate 7-11 now.
Can’t delete account even with staff. Still waiting for the “email.”

Update April 27, 2024. They still haven’t deleted my account. I can no longer use app because they did burn my phone number. Can’t use app and they won’t delete my account. Escalated the case but still haven’t been called and still haven’t receive the email that was supposed to arrive “24 hours” after the call. 4 calls and never received the email after any of them so I could cancel the account. Original review: Still waiting for email to confirm account is cancelled along with whatever response is needed. Also had same trouble setting up the app. If I do t receive the email in a timely manner, they don’t cancel account yet they have made it so I can longer use my cell phone for the account which is in limbo until I receive their email. If not, I will still have an account with a phone number they can no longer use with the app. Update: Sunday . I still haven’t received email to complete my account deletion. Yet they have burned my phone number so can’t use the app. I called again today and they said I have to wait 24 hours. I said I’ve already waited at least a week since I asked to cancel my account. Then the guy blamed their system & said I have to follow the process and wait for the email that was not sent and may never be sent. Tuesday I’ll call again if I don’t get the email. Figure they’ll tell me the same info and make me wait another 24 hours. Maybe they have no desire to delete my account that contains information. They have trashed my phone number and may never delete my account.
