Easy to use

Love this app. Does have a different log in credentials than online however once I set it up I can either log in with Face ID or 4 digit pin. Makes submitting claims simple and fast as I just take a pic of my documentation and upload to my claim or debit swipe. Can get my balance at anytime and see if I need to submit receipts and the status of my card.

Not sure I trust these guys with my money, but my options are none, since this is the company my employer has chosen. It should be noted, before I get into my complaint that I’ve had lunch with the execs at my company and they all sounded like they’ve had really bad experiences with Alerus. My complaint:Guided signup suggests you go through your phone, but that makes password managers difficult to use. I ended up using a basic password expecting to change it later. My password works fine on the phone but not at the website. I’m stuck with a dumb password and the only way to manage my account is on the phone.

Not intuitive

This app seems to have never heard of the concept of UX. Confusing to navigate. No explanation of the difference between a reimbursement and an expense. No way to add other people who are covered besides myself, yet the app asks for the patient name. Mileage is reimbursable but there is no field for mileage or drop down for it when submitting an expense. There’s also no guidance on how much to expense per mile. Every time I use this app I run into countless issues and have to call customer service. Forget trying to use it on a weekend, because you cannot reach customer service.

Made as difficult as possible

This group that manages my money makes it as difficult as possible to prove that payments I made are legitimate. I provide receipts and proof of services for my flex saving account and claims are denied as they cite proof from insurance also. This is not a requirement per IRS rules but they take it upon themselves to add additional requirements so they can claim my money at end of tax year after making it as difficult as possible. In addition, expect to spend at least 30 minutes on hold to talk to them also. If I could them negative stars, I would.
