Quick balance sacrificed for banking product recommendations
Mar 2
Lovesixela
After being forced into this new app so I could do a deposit I was surprised to find that one of the features that mad the previous app very convenient is missing; quick balance. The current app is fine if you ignore it being packed with what amounts to advertisements for other bank products but the point of a banking app is to be a convenient way to manage account balances. If quick balance is brought back and other features that make mobile banking convenient for us members in a meaningful way I’ll edit my review.

Where was this email??

Okay first off where was this email or even notification on the app about this new app launching? Or a reminder to make sure you made the switch?? Also… I read other reviews that you needed to log in by a certain time or you have to MAKE A NEW ACCOUNT?? Is this not 2026?? Who implemented this and thought it was a good idea? Poorly planned project. Poorly implemented and should’ve gotten better feedback from users because this is not it… I don’t know if I even still have PAPER bank statements to look up my account number to make a new account for this dumb new app. Like you couldn’t have just updated what you had with a new phase? Does no one care about good projects anymore? It honestly just makes me want to close my accounts and find an entirely new credit union. This should not be more work to switch to a newly launched app… it’s 2026 and technology should not be this basic of a change where I have to start all over. HIGHLY disappointed.

Missing Features

Several features from previous app are missing such as quick balance and the ability to view balances of linked external accounts such as my Capital One accounts. I can view the in the old app and will continue using it until I can’t. At that point, will look at other options.

Developer Response
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your experience, and we’ll share your feedback with our team. Balances for external accounts can be viewed in the Money Management tool. If you haven’t already, you will need to reconnect any external accounts you’d like to see there. If balances still aren’t appearing after reconnecting your accounts, please call 888.267.7200 or visit a Relationship Center for assistance. Remember to download the new Lake Trust Mobile Banking app and log in by March 13 for the smoothest transition. Members who log in after March 13 will need to create a new login, and previous account settings will not carry over. If you’ve already installed and logged in to the new app, please delete the old app, as it will no longer be accessible after March 13.

Net improvements, so many things missing

The new app is faster and much more clean but a lot of the features i use to use didn’t make it over like the quick balance view on the log in screen and the widgets you could put on your phone home screen. You should have made sure this was ready before you pushed it out!!! These are things that 99 percent of people use every day and you over looked it completely. please do better by your customers and consider what’s useful

- You can now view your chosen Savings Goal for your Aspire CD under account details - We've added a new settings page where you can change how your CD accrues interest and what happens when it matures. Visit your CD account details > CD Settings to do this. - Many more stability fixes and improvements!
