Original review: I transferred most of my savings from my life-long trusted bank to OpenBank for the high-interest offer. OpenBank did a double-draw, causing my transferring bank to overdraft by $16,000. They kept trying to draw the $20,000 transfer amount and racked up overdraft fees. I canceled the transfer to try again at another time. It’s been several weeks and neither bank has my $20,000. Update: Several phone calls to several representatives over 7 weeks… Eventually I spoke with a representative who confirmed that my money was last with Fiserv, a financial institution that transfers international funds. The representative said they’d contact Fiserv and that I should contact the transferring bank so they could also flag Fiserv. The transferring bank confirmed the money had left my account and entered the Fed, but they have no access to further information. Another call to another representative… this time they noticed I’d been relentlessly trying to find my money. They made a special inquiry and said that their special team would be in contact with me within 4 days… they never reached out. About two weeks later I checked my balance and it had just shown up the day before. It took 7 weeks for my money to be deposited. Unbelievable.

One of the best High Yield Savings on the market. Compared to many other competitors this is the most optimal, lucrative rate offered with No Fees whatsoever. Love how everything is handled Online & the Biometrics is secure and easy to deal with after activating mine through settings of IPhone. I had an CS Agent walk me through the process to setup and make sure everything in enabled including Push notifications. The app has had no issues for me since logging in since. I say to those who are doubting, give it a try. The Agent representatives will definitely also help if you run into any problems down the line as they are very informative when it comes to guiding within the App.

So, I opened this account/app for the good savings account interest rates. There was no problem installing or using the app, there was no problem connecting it to another bank account to fund the account. It’s been a massive problem trying to get money into this account. They instantly blocked my account because of a minor error on my part (I accidentally tried to give them too much money, there’s a limit). It’s now been a full month and the account is still blocked. I’ve probably made about a dozen calls to customer service trying to figure out the problem and how to unblock the account so I can give them my money! No luck in a whole month so I’m now trying to close the account so my credit score doesn’t get dinged and they’re literally simultaneously sending me messages that I need to fund this account in the next 30 days or risk it being closed (bad for my credit score), but when I call customer service they’re telling me it will be up to 90 days before they can unblock and close the account?!!! If it’s this hard to move funds into one of their accounts can you imagine trying to get your money back?! Scary!!!

I recently updated the app on my phone and then could no longer access my account. I contacted Openbank and they were unable to resolve the problem so I was forced to close my account. It’s simply unbelievable that the only way to access your account is through an app. Even when I tried using a desktop or other devices you cannot proceed unless you accept a push notification to the app on the registered device which as mentioned I could not get because the app did not work after the update.To make matters worse I closed my account due to this issue and they originally told me it takes 15-20 days to mail the check and then I’m being told it takes 15-20 days from when they cut the check which was 20 days after I closed my account. So basically it could take up to 40 days to get your money. Different departments can’t even talk to each, they have to send emails. So you will losing out on interest that you could be earning with another bank due to their slow process. Worst bank ever, stay far away if you actually want access to your money.
