I enjoy and have tried many of apps such as this. After more than 4 years of use, this remains the best and the one I use when in the backcountry or just riding around town. Enjoying the outdoors and being part of an organized search and rescue association, it is really important to know where you are, where you are going, and having or being able to develop a plan B. This app does that and so much more, all using an intuitive, easy to use interface. The app gives you many different maps with unique visualizations and all the tools necessary to plan enjoyable multiday routes as well as day hikes. Great for novices and experts alike. One of my favorite maps is the Accuterra slope map included in the app. The information in all the maps is so rich (and up to date) that effective routes can be planned without having previously visited the area. When on trail, downloaded maps will show you precisely where you are and other fun and useful features including how much further you have to go, what is in your line of sight, elevation gain and loss, etc. You can even create new routes offline if plan B is necessitated. If you like taking photos with your device, the app will show you the location and direction you were facing when you snapped the shot. Cute and surprisingly fun and useful. For the through-hikers out there, this could be an important addition to Guthook (it’s maps are much better overall, but it’s not a social platform that is dedicated to through hikers)
Awesome! Glad to have you with us.
