The Twiist pump is pretty incredible, with new technology and a clear focus on actually helping type 1 diabetics. However, there are still several issues that need to be addressed, and I hope they do so quickly. For one, I agree with other reviewers about the alarm sounds. They are SO excessively loud and obnoxious and cause real problems in a professional setting with no option to mute or at least turn to vibrate. The pump connection to tide pool is abysmal. I can’t believe they allowed the pump to go to market without ensuring that tide pool was ready to support this system. Even the mobile website doesn’t work, and the desktop is constantly missing data. The issue with the Cleo not adhering to your skin without the use of skintac is another big one. If this is ongoing, they need to include skintac with the refill kits. And finally, the clip. It is completely worthless and doesn’t stay clipped to ANYTHING. It makes wearing the pump pretty obnoxious.
Pros and cons
DiabetesT1DM
Pros:-I love the pre-meal and workout presets.-I love the option to indicate what glycemic index you’ll be eating. It takes the guesswork out of extended boluses.-I really appreciate being able to adjust the amount of carbs entered into the system after finishing my meal.-The time feature on the bolus screen is awesome!BG target ranges are amazing. I think this will be a game changer, especially for fasting vs. fed BG targets.-I like that you can bolus from your watch.-The weight of the pump is so light compared to the t:slim X2 pump. I love it. The height is comparable to the t:slim X2, and the diameter is about 2/3 the size of the t:slim screen. It fits in my pocket without weighing down my pants. I can also wear it in my bra without there being a visible rectangle like the t:slim.Cons:-Alerts sound like fire alarms; please let us choose the tone, volume, etc.-I wish I could see my glucose reading on my watch without clicking into the Loop icon.-Twiist is not supported on Apple Watch if you want to customize the interface color to anything other than the default colors.-Please create a widget for Twiist on the phone.-The follow app, “Insiight,” does not allow family members to receive glucose alerts for their loved ones.-Would be nice to have time in range reports on app/widget

I moved from Omnipod to twiist because while simple to use and convenient, Omni and dex7 were not working well together, and unit failures were too common. Twiist works well when it runs smoothly and the data inputs are on point. However it’s a chore to change a cassette and infusion set , especially since it only lasts 3 days, too many pieces and alarms too : Lately I had two cassettes stop working due to line clogs errors that would not resolve after multiple attempts. Changing out the battery caused a line clog error: that’s ridiculous. I spoke with cs about the way too small , hard to see Cleo clip and way too long hose. She said you have to start a new cassette..again, an hour after I swapped the first clogged one out. That’s not ideal..for many reasons. Idk how they came up with this hose length but it is just excessive: Why not make it shorter or give users an option for this? Reading other reviews it’s obvious some others aren’t happy w Cleo. Seems wise to swap suppliers so we don’t run into issues and waste supplies.. Also, once you pair a Libre to your pump, that is the only way it will work: You’re unable to use the Libre app outside the system to get your Bg. So finger sticks- That’s pretty close to being a deal breaker for me. Keep it simple, give users choice and try hearing what users are saying here.
Hate new update

I love the twiist pump but ever since I updated the app the 6 hour glucose readings have been so inconsistent and my current reading is not accurate with the graph. It will always tell me that in the 6 hours ahead I will always be low. This doesn’t help when I want to have a meal and it will tell me I can’t have insulin because I’m predicated to go low so then I will eat something to bring it up and then I skyrocket of course. Please fix this or something because I really do truly love the twiist and I don’t want to go on a different pump. I’ve been on this pump since December and it’s helped me a lot but this is the first time that I’m having all of these problems now.
App improvements and minor fixes.
