Why on earth would you create a new app. Navigating the app is way worse than how it used to be. AFAIK you can’t transfer accounts. Also, some climbs seem to have bugged star ratings (Franconian sky shows up as 1 star). Also, one of my favorite features when trying to find new projects was to sort by random at a specific grade, but it seems like the option to sort by random is gone. Another thing to add, the way you select holds to set climbs is worse than the setup you had before. If you guys have any common sense, you should revert the change and go back to the old app.
Feedback on this app
Mr. Flip Flop
I wrote a bad review before I saw that Aurora pulled your old app as well as all the account data without giving notice. Given the situation it makes sense that this new app feels unfinished and buggy. Here is my feedback:- I would love to have my old account data back, but I know that is not entirely in your control- The star ratings should still be on a 3 star scale. Currently the best routes are 3/5 stars- some boulders are showing grade ranges, which is a cool idea, but I can’t tell where that range is coming from or if it reflects the grades at different angles or just the spread of grades at one specific angle- the sport route function feels clunky. The route “plays” automatically if you scroll through the route timeline, and also the route “loops” when it finishes, which makes the timing even tougher. The finish holds disappear as you’re arriving at them.- I want to be able to tell what angle a boulder was FA’d at. Like what angle it was set at, and what angle it was FA’d at.- comments on sport routes would hopefully be restored because they often have pacing suggestionsGood luck, and I’ll keep using this app through all its iterations. At the end of the day the board is the same and the app does work.
App doesn’t really work

I get that this is basically in beta but this is…essentially non functional. Kilter board is out of commission til this is fixed. Kinda ridiculous that a company would sell such an expensive and large physical product, and have it so tied to a mobile app they don’t control, to let themselves wind up in this position, but here we are. Back to tension we go I guess
Kilter phase out

App works as intended for a forced release of what’s essentially a beta version of the product. Sorry to have the app come out in a forced manner like this — hopefully old data and logs get recovered. In the short term, I’d like a better filtering/search method. Sorting by highest rated yields climbs with low ascent count and sorting by high climb count gives routes with low rating. Something in the middle would be nice :)
We've been listening. Here's what's in this update:
- Filters — complete overhaul. New grade selection, exclude completed climbs, filter by setter, and more.
- Completed climbs are back — see what you've sent right from the board tab.
- Compatible layouts returning to the board tab.
- Search — duplicate results fixed.
- Performance improvements across the app.
- Logging ascents disappearing fixed
More on the way.
