MiniMed Go
Smart MDI system
Free
The MiniMed Go™ system helps people manage diabetes. It is a single-app solution that can integrate glucose measurements captured from a compatible continuous glucose monitor (CGM) with data on insulin doses delivered by the InPen™ smart insulin pen.
The app can be used with InPen, Instinct sensor made by Abbott, or Simplera™ sensor CGMs, and with Apple Watch™ to view glucose readings and receive alerts. When connected to a CGM, the app supports display of Sensor Glucose (SG) values and trend arrows. When connected to the InPen smart insulin pen, the app supports automatic logging insulin doses administered by InPen, tracking of active insulin, and a dose calculator. The app also supports alerts or reminders for low glucose, high glucose, and insulin doses.
The MiniMed Go app should only be used with supported mobile devices and operating systems. In order to access the list of the supported mobile devices and operating systems, go to https://www.medtronicdiabetes.com/customer-support/app-support/device-compatibility.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The MiniMed Go app is intended for use with the InPen smart insulin pen and compatible continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems and compatible rapid-acting insulins (NovoRapid, Fiasp, or Humalog) to aid in diabetes management through multiple daily injections.
Instinct sensor with InPen smart insulin pen is indicated for ages 7 and up, or for ages 2-6 years under the supervision of an adult caregiver. Simplera sensor with InPen smart insulin pen is approved for ages 18 years and older. Adequate sight and hearing, compatible mobile device and operating system, pairing and connectivity, proper settings, accurate manual logging of insulin doses administered by means other than InPen, and occasional blood glucose meter (BGM) readings are all required for proper functioning of the system.
Treatment decisions are to be made in consultation with a healthcare professional and on the basis of a combination of glucose readings, trend arrows, glucose target, active alerts, and recent events (such as insulin doses, exercise, meals, and medications).
Failure to observe these and other details as found in the user guides can result in incorrect dosing, missed alerts and notifications, and ultimately hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia, with serious injury or death possible. For complete details, consult the appropriate system and component user guides at https://www.medtronicdiabetes.com/support/download-library/user-guides, taking care to select the correct country.

- Use Statement
- The MiniMed Go app is indicated for people with diabetes or their caregivers. The indicated patient population varies based on the combination of connected CGM and injector.
Simplera sensor only: Diabetes patients ages 18 years and older
InPen smart insulin pen only: Diabetes patients ages 7 years and older, or younger patients under
the supervision of an adult caregiver
Simplera sensor and InPen smart insulin pen: Diabetes patients ages 18 years and older
Instinct sensor and InPen smart insulin pen: Diabetes patients ages 7 years and older, or patients
ages 2 to 6 years under the supervision of an adult caregiver
The dose calculator of the MiniMed Go app is indicated for the management of diabetes by people with diabetes for calculating an insulin dose based on user entered data, most recent glucose value and active insulin.
To calculate a recommended insulin dose, a healthcare professional must provide patient-specific therapy settings including glucose target, insulin-to-carbohydrate ratio, and insulin sensitivity parameters to be programmed into the software prior to use.
For an insulin dose based on fixed or variable meal sizes, a healthcare professional must also provide patient-specific fixed doses or meal sizes to be programmed into the software prior to use.
When connected to a CGM, the app supports display of Sensor Glucose (SG) values and trend arrows. When connected to the InPen smart insulin pen, the app supports automatic logging of insulin doses, tracking of active insulin, and a dose calculator. The app also supports alerts or reminders for low glucose, high glucose, and insulin doses. - Safety Information
- The MiniMed Go system includes the MiniMed Go app, InPen smart insulin pen injector and either the Instinct continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensor or Simplera CGM sensor. The system is intended to aid in diabetes management through multiple daily injections of compatible rapid-acting insulins (Humalog, Novolog, or Fiasp). The app and system components each require a prescription. When used with Instinct CGM, the app is indicated for patients ages 7 years and older, or patients ages 2 to 6 years under the supervision of an adult caregiver. When used with Simplera CGM, the app is indicated for patients ages 18 and over. If using InPen alone, the app is intended for all ages, with patients under age 7 requiring supervision. Use of these systems requires, among other things, adequate hearing and vision, a compatible mobile device and operating system, an open app, adequate pairing and connectivity, use of an approved rapid-acting insulin, mobile device battery power, proper settings, accurate manual logging of insulin doses administered by means other than InPen, and occasional blood glucose meter (BGM) readings. Establishment of settings and treatment decisions should be made in consultation with a healthcare professional and on the basis of a combination of glucose readings, trend arrows, glucose target, active alerts, and recent events (such as insulin doses, exercise, meals, and medications). Failure to observe these and other details as found in the user guides can result in incorrect dosing, missed alerts and notifications, and ultimately hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia, with serious injury or death possible.
