Settling up finally makes sense. Instead of a wall of numbers you get a plain answer: two payments left, who you pay, who pays you. Tap Why on any payment and it opens up to show the expenses behind it. Marked something paid by mistake? Settled payments fold away where you can still undo them. Starting a trip is nicer too. It becomes a postcard as you name it, and you pick its color. Add your name and dates when you want to, not before. Share the split as an image straight into the group chat, so everyone sees what they owe without installing anything. There's a QR on it for paying you back. Joining a trip walks you through it now, with a paste button that spots the code on your clipboard, or a QR to scan. Expired or turned-off links say so plainly instead of just failing. Trips also read at a glance, with your balance ending in a clear next step rather than leaving you to work it out. Plus: rename someone without losing their expenses, a closed trip really stays closed, and a recovery pass you can save as an image.

Aploma is better at telling you the truth about money. Settle up in one currency and Aploma no longer says you are square with everyone while a debt in another currency is still open. It tells you what is left and where. Undo a settlement and the trip goes back to unfinished, instead of still claiming everyone is done. Your trip total now says whether it is final, so you know when a number is safe to pay. Receipt extras that belong to a dish also read and claim together now.
