An antidote to overtourism.
Wandering Well does the opposite of most travel apps. Instead of funnelling you toward the same overcrowded, over-photographed places, it points away from the crowds — toward gorgeous, lesser-known destinations off the beaten path that welcome more visitors.
Using dozens of datapoints, every place is filtered from millions down to 12,000+ destinations across 230+ countries, each scored for two things: beauty and overtourism scoring. This gives us places for people to enjoy, and people for places that want them.
This app is built for easy use while traveling:
• Works fully offline. The entire catalogue lives on your device — browse, search, and map it with no signal, anywhere in the world.
• Near me. See the beautiful, quiet places closest to wherever you are.
• Search by map or theme. For places close to you, or for certain experiences.
• Real detail. Climate data, what's around town, the natural setting, nearby picks, directions, and more photos.
• Save your shortlist. Build a trip list that stays on your device.
Zero data taken from users. No accounts requires. No ads. No tracking. No telling you where everyone else is going.
Meet the anti-algorithm.
