I bought my first Canary security camera at the beginning of the company’s operations. Turned out soon afterward my wife was diagnosed with cancer and her initial treatment was with a stem cell transplant that required us to be nearby the clinic for 9 or 10 months, meaning we were away from our home all that time. Although we had a professionally installed and monitored traditional burglar alarm system the picture from the Canary was reassuring and it’s temperature monitoring system was superior to that we had on the traditional system which often gave false alarms. We downsized a year or so later to a condo which I monitored with two canary cameras. We had purchased a townhouse to be near the cancer clinic and I also monitored it with Canary cameras. Being able to see what’s going on (if nothing else being able to see I closed the overhead garage door when I left) and make sure the heat is on during freezing weather when we are away (and we are always away from one place or the other) gives great peace of mind. Living in safe controlled areas I’m not so concerned with burgers, but we get security from that too! I wouldn’t do without my Canary Security, the things really do work and give great peace of mind for very little!

I received my first Canary as part of an INDIEGOGO around 2013. It was quite a few years ago to be sure. That camera is still going strong and so are the 5 others I’ve purchased along the way. All are in use. My mother in law has dementia and these cams have our preformed all others I have gotten. They give me the best piece of mind. Not only at her home but ours as well when we are away. The streaming is wonderful, one of the features I really love is the fact that I can see what the temperature is in the house. A few years ago we were out of state and my mother-in-law’s furnace went out and I could see she was walking around the house with her coat on and at first I didn’t know if it was just her dementia but when I checked closer with the camera, I realize that it was only 50 degrees in her house. I was able to reach a heating tech who got there right away and got her fixed up. Again, it’s gives you a wonderful peace of mind for your loved ones and your home Thank you Thank you !!

Firstly, I have been a very long time user of Canary camera systems. When I first purchased my cameras I was enticed by the companies free services. I was looking for a camera without a monthly fee service. After only a few months I got an email that this was all changing and now there would be a monthly fee. I felt ripped off by Canary, so I’ve had a bad taste in my mouth about this company since signing up in 2017. I also have two Canary Flex’s. From the beginning they have had lots of issues. Issues of staying charged, taking an incredible amount of time to recharge, and them constantly losing connection. Not only that, but often times not catching people on the camera. Also, I recently got a new home internet system and the Canary Flex’s are not compatible with this type of wifi. My wifi uses both 2.4 GHZ and 5GHZ and I need it to be able to use both. Canary tried reaching out to me to sign back up for their services again by offering me a reduced annual fee and telling me that I need to buy new Canary cameras for them to work with my wifi. Now there are ads all over the Canary app. I would not recommend to anyone and I strongly suggest anyone considering this company to look into other options instead.

I have been using canary cameras and the paid service for several years now. These cameras have several features like the infrared night vision, the motion detectors that will activate the camera, these cameras tell the temperatures in each room they are in. You can also speak through the cameras. Fun cameras! The alarm feature is a great feature nice and loud. The Wi-Fi capability for the canary cameras are convenient. However I have my cameras hard wired to the modem! It’s much more reliable having the cameras wired, but if you have the capability I suggest wiring them, but it’s not necessary! I contemplated getting the outdoor cameras as well but I live in a climate that gets -45 below zero freezing in the winter and I don’t think they would function in such extreme cold temperatures! The paid service is worth the monthly fee. I would recommend to all if your in the market for an interactive home surveillance system.
