The Myzone app uses inclusive, game-based mechanics and social elements to prove time and time again that we're stronger together. When combined with a Myzone heart rate monitor, the app creates personalised zones, based on your maximum heart rate, which means anyone can compete together on a level playing field.
What is Myzone?
▶ FEEL GOOD INSIDE AND OUT
Myzone develops accurate wearable technology, providing engaging and motivational experiences that support lifestyle changes to make exercise habits stick.
▶ JOIN THE COMMUNITY OR BUILD YOUR OWN
Myzone is used by 1.8 million people around the world at home, outdoors and in our partner gyms such as Snap Fitness, LA Fitness, Bannatyne Health Club, Fitness First, Anytime Fitness, and UFC GYM.
▶ USE IT YOUR WAY
Myzone connects through analogue, ANT+ and Bluetooth with gym equipment, and Apple Watch. Myzone integrates with Apple Health to save your workout data and biometrics such as weight, BMI, and BMR. It also integrates with third-party apps such as MapMyRun, Strava, and MyFitnessPal.
Myzone integrates with many other platforms, including Apple Health. If you grant permission, we will save your activity calories, height, weight, BMI, BMR and body fat data to Apple Health.
▶ THE MOST ACCURATE TRACKERS
Myzone heart rate monitors let you know the exact level that you're working out at, in real time. The heart rate monitoring system features electrocardiography (ECG) measurement that's accurate up to 99.4%, as used by health professionals. The MZ-Switch combines an ECG sensor with a photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor to create the world's first interchangeable heart rate monitor for the gym, outdoors or in water.
▶ LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD
Myzone rewards effort over ability. Each device automatically updates how it records your effort, every time you progress through your goals. The five tailored effort zones make heart rate training easy to understand. Each zone is a percentage of your maximum heart rate, meaning that athletes and fitness newbies can exercise together to earn MEPs (Myzone Effort Points).
▶ WORLD-CLASS WORKOUTS
Myzone means you can take part in live classes with real studio buzz, wherever you are. Exclusive to the Myzone app, MZ-Remote is the world's first virtual live group workout where participants can connect and exercise together, while receiving real-time biometric feedback and personalised coaching from a trainer.
▶ LOVED BY THE EXPERTS
Myzone has been featured and reviewed by international journalists from publications such as Men's Fitness, Men's Health, Women's Health, The Huffington Post, GQ, T3, Wired and Esquire for over 10 years.

I always hated the idea of PORTION CONTROL and/or COUNTING CALORIES and/or CUTTING CARBS!!! That way of eating is just too restrictive and depressing. Since I got the MyFitnessPal app, I have come to realize that it is more about educating yourself about the calories you do eat.I ditched the war with carbs and decided just to focus on the total calories I eat. There are several features that help a ton on this app. First, the way it alllows you to scan any food that you buy in the grocery store into the food word bank is very cool. The next time I eat that food I don’t have to scan it. I just type in the name of the food and it is on the pop-up list. Second, there is a useful database of restaurants. I believe that this app has helped me more than anything to realize that eating out is a huge pitfall to losing weight. The other day we were eating at a Mexican restaurant. I was excited to see that the fajitas and tortillas were no too high in calories. However, the bowl of borracho beans with bacon and sausage had TWICE AS MANY calories as the fajitas. It was just a side, but would have killed my total calories for the day. I use to chug those beans before I was enlightened to their waist busting property. Third, the way the app subtracts your exercise allows you to see how hard you are working to keep the total calories down. You think twice before eating that 350 calorie candy bar after remembering the 30 minutes you sweated over that elliptical machine to burn those 350 calories. Lastly, the 5 week weight forecast you get when you complete that day’s diary is RIGHT ON POINT! I lost 20 pounds over that time period. I cannot say enough about how AMAZING this app is to help you shed some unwanted pounds!!!
Overall, good product

We live in the country and workout in our garage gym, but do the workouts as prescribed by a gym in town. Since our account is linked to the gym, it helps hold us accountable knowing that the rest of the gym can see our effort, in addition to providing a little extra motivation at 5am by being able to see some measurement of our effort at the end of the workout beyond copious amounts of sweat. It helps give us a reality check when we think we are tired and gasping for breath, then see our HR tick down to the low 80% (keep pushing) and other times turning red (yeah, I'm really working that hard). It helps too to see how hard others have pushed doing the same workout, and motivates me to keep pushing. Got frustrated when we found that the app had set us up with identical HR baselines (I'm 40, she's 34). Called myzone, they said they fixed it, but it didn't change. Figured out on my own that they had fixed it in the background, but I had to go back into settings to trigger the updated HR to carry through to My Body Metrics. They said it was an auto calculation that keyed off of age. I don't understand why it wouldn't calc correctly when you first setup your account. They also said the minimum HR didn't matter. Well, if it doesn't matter than remove it. Showing me a BS min HR serves no purpose. If it's going to be there, it needs to be accurate. Overall I definitely like the product. I was in the middle of a workout 1 day, realized I had not put on the belt, and was mad for the rest of the workout cause I wouldn't "get credit" for my effort. I doubt I'll forget it again.
Developer Response
Hi!Thank you providing such a detailed review! We're sorry that you had problems with your minimum HR value, and are glad that you managed to get it all sorted out.
Great incentive to get to the gym!!!

I love seeing my info on the screen as soon as I enter a group fitness class. The color-coded monitor shows heart rate as a percent, and I find myself continuously moving just to keep myself in the blue (60%) status or above. The MEP point system is perfect for goal setting. I enjoy naming each saved workout and adding a picture behind the bar graph data table. When the monitors are off, the wearable device requires the phone nearby with app open and logging in order to retain workout data. I lost an entire workout because I left my phone behind and there were no active screens on that day. I would like to be able to return home from a workout or return to the gym the next time the displays are active and sync up recent workouts or movements. I thought the device would have some memory for the $99 cost.Another nice feature would be the ability to truncate the timeline of your saved bar graphs. One day I had worn the device while driving to and from the gym. The device had logged ALL data with the device worn, including the non-workout times. Contrary to what I said in the earlier paragraph, the phone was in range, but with the app closed, not actively displaying data. Finally, I’d like to edit more than just a title and photo. Maybe add ability edit / delete the comments?
Lost Data. Extremely buggy.

I’ve been having problems lately where the MyZone app fails to load historical data off the belt. I don’t typically work out near a MyZone receiver or with the belt streaming to the app on my iPhone. I know for a fact the belt is recording HR because it displays on the gym equipment. I used to do my workout (out of phone range) then open up the app on my phone before taking the belt off and it would load my workout data. That doesn’t work any more. Now the only data that gets saved in the app is for the period I am within range of the phone. The actual workout data never gets imported off the belt. I used to get around this by installing the app on an iPad and use it to load the data hours after the workout. It took a few tries sometimes but it usually worked. Fed up with the app I tried streaming to my Apple Watch. Today when I went to upload data from my watch it showed there were nearly 300 samples. It hit “upload” and got confirmation that upload was successful. The data is not in the app on my IPhone. The workout data is just gone. It appears that if the belt is streaming data over Bluetooth that it doesn’t save data to its internal memory so it can’t be imported later. I never had problems before they added Apple Watch suppprt. I am use the most updated versions of everything. If I keep having problems I’m going to quit using it because it isn’t worth the hassle.
