Love RSS feeds? So do we!!
RSS feeds are a great way to follow updates on your favorite website. However, some sites set up their feeds to only show a portion of each entry, you know, to get you to click through to their actual website. We find that really annoying, and we're sure you do too.
Which is why, unlike other RSS feed readers, that either push you into a browser (in-app or otherwise), or depend on third party text parsing services and require you to be online to fetch the full text of one article at a time (which makes it no different from having to click/tap through to a website), in lire, you get your favorite RSS feeds as they should've been. You don't need to click through to any website (though, you do still have the option to, if you really wanted). It takes your favorite partial feeds, does its magic, and converts them in to full feeds, so you don't have to click/tap on those annoying 'Read more' or 'Continue reading' links.
Once they're cached, you don't even need to be connected to read your full-text feeds.
Use as a standalone feed reader, sync with iCloud,
or,
sync with any of the several services: Feedly, Feedbin, FeedHQ, The Old Reader, Inoreader, BazQux Reader, Newsblur, Feed Wrangler, FreshRSS, Miniflux, Nextcloud News, Tiny Tiny RSS.
I found this app after scouring Reddit for an RSS reader with proper support for Miniflux. Buried in one thread was a mention of lire. I was a bit reluctant to try it with no trial on iOS and a macOS demo that didn’t support Miniflux; but I thought why not, it’s 10 bucks, recently updated, and looks nice.I’m incredibly happy that I did. It is performant. I love the full text caching. The integration with Miniflux is solid and was easy to set up. It feels like an iOS app should. Say what you will about Liquid Glass, I enjoy the design of lire quite a bit more than the myriad of other readers I have tried.I’m surprised to not see more buzz about this reader. In a world full of apps with subscriptions, it is very important to me to support developers that provide perpetual licenses. As a developer myself, I understand why many have switched to subscription models. That just makes it more important to vote with our wallets ;)One thing I’d love to see in the future would be tighter integration with feeds that provide multiple URLs. For instance, hacker news feeds provide an article url and a comment url. On the Miniflux web UI I can click the comment URL via a link on the article row. I’d love to have something similar in lire as a convenience, not a show stopper since I can just go to the feed view to click the URL.Thanks for this great app!
I am in love

Why have I only just learned about this app?! Having spent only a short while in the app, adding feeds and generally ‘kicking the tires’, oh my goodness what a fantastic app this is. Already used the tip jar. I run my own self hosted RSS aggregator and my goal was always to find a workable full-text rss system. Something that truly provides the articles in full form. I got about 70% close to that goal. But now I’m already thinking that’s going to get torn down in favor of using this app instead. Very well done to the devs. I can only imagine how hard you’ve worked to make something able to pull the full articles. Kudos!
Wow!

I am so glad I found this. It is definitely worth the $10. First, to the devs: thanks for not being a subscription. And thanks for respecting privacy. The review: you can adjust this in seemingly EVERY way. You can have specific feeds open directly in the in-app browser, or in reader mode. So, depending on the behavior of the feed, it will remember what to do. Do you hate it when the app header scrolls away like I do? You can change that. Easily adjust font sizes. Can organize the feeds - not just one l long list. The customization that you can do goes on and on. AND - they respect your privacy.
Excellent!!!

I live in a rural area with weak cell service. When the power goes out we’re totally offline. Automatic Full-text caching is the feature that sold me on this app. Everything works well and is quick and smooth. Nice UI and intuitive controls. I also appreciate the Standalone option, lack of data collection, and no need for a subscription! Finally, having never used an RSS reader before, the developer was super quick to respond to my silly questions and explain things in a clear, concise, and courteous manner. Thank you!

Version 6.3.0
NEW:
- Updated for the new iOS/iPadOS 26 Liquid Glass User Interface, along with new app icons to go with it.
- Summarization of articles using Apple Intelligence on iOS 26 (available on devices that support Apple Intelligence).
-- Summarization is available in the context menu in Article Lists, and as a link at the top of the reading area in the Full Text View, and the Feed Item View. It is also available in the share sheet.
-- You can even edit the summarization prompt (that the app send to Apple Intelligence) using the second button in the top right in the Summary View. (NOTE: Editing its only available when the app has a generated summary, not while a summary is being generated)
--- The default prompt is "Summarize this article", you can change it to something like "Summarize this article in bullet points" or "Summarize this article in two sentences" or "Give a non-clickbait title to this article".
- New "View Mode" button in the top bar to switch between different view modes from within the article reading view. When using it, the app remembers (and syncs if using iCloud sync mode) the last used view mode on a per feed basis, so you do not have to keep switching.
-- Updated the names of article reading modes. "Full-text" is now "Full Text View", "Original Content" is now "Feed Item View", and "Inline Webpage" is now "Web View".
- New "Get Current Article" shortcut, which should now be available in the Shortcuts app.
If you enjoy using lire, please leave a review, or tell a friend about it. That helps a lot!
