Description

Reeder is your all-in-one inbox for reading, watching and listening to content from various sources.

From Unread Counts to Timeline Syncing
Say goodbye to unread counts! With Reeder, your timeline position is synced across all your devices, letting you pick up right where you left off.

Shared Feeds
Turn any tag into a public, auto-updating feed that can be viewed in any browser or added to any RSS reader that supports JSON feeds, making it simple to share your curated content.

Unified Timeline
Reeder supports more than just RSS feeds. It integrates videos, podcasts and social media posts into a single, streamlined view. While it’s not meant to replace full-featured clients, Reeder offers a centralized way to keep track of everything you follow, with the option to open content in other apps (if supported) when you want to dive deeper.

Save and Organize Links
Easily save links from Safari or any other app to Reeder using its share extension, keeping everything organized and easy to find.

iCloud Sync
Reeder only syncs what’s important — your subscriptions, timeline position and tagged items (including Links, Favorites, Bookmarks and Later) — across all your devices using iCloud, making syncing faster and more efficient, with changes pushed to your other devices within seconds. Content is fetched directly from the sources, ensuring you always have the latest updates.

Really great new concept to a beloved app

I didn’t know this is how I wanted to use Reeder (or any reader app), but it works really well. I have tons of subscriptions, but at the rate they update, going through one-by-one is actually far less efficient. The single feed model works so well. If there is any basic functionality I would like improved background updates and sync speeds. Oh, and it would be great if we could Edit and/or Sort the main screen. I would prefer if Video and Links were not in the list, Bookmarks was allowed to be higher up, and Podcasts was below Feeds.

Now, for the more impressive feature: podcasts. I have been using Reeder instead of my preferred podcast player, Castro, since Reeder launched. I REALLY like it and have adapted the Bookmark as a kind of pseudo Castro Queue (for podcasts AND articles). It works really well, buuuuut (and this is why I’ve rated it four stars instead of five), it needs a few more features to truly be a full podcast player replacement. Hopefully these can come soon:
1. Control options for skipping forward and/or backward by Chapter
2. CarPlay app for viewing Bookmarks (or Audio) in the car. Instagram gets in by having a voice reader for text, so maybe an audio-exclusive feature could pass CarPlay App Store scrutiny.
3. Podcast downloading (maybe through the Bookmarks or Saved lists)

Awesome work!

Needs a read/unread visual cue. Sorry, it does!

This is a neat idea that plays into the notion that we can’t 100% our feeds anymore and thus don’t need to see that we have thousands of unread RSS feed entries (and videos, and Reddit posts, and so on and on) we’ll never get to. As a complement to Reeder Classic (but, personally, not a replacement for it), I can easily see a use case that has me using both daily. But I won’t pick this up again until there’s some visual indication of which posts I’ve read/seen/watched/heard. A syncing timeline isn’t enough (and, so far in my testing, not very reliable in terms of where it lands after a sync). I don’t need unread item counts or empty feed folders, but please just dim the items I’ve interacted with (or, better, give us an option to automatically hide those from the main feed once they’ve been interacted with). Without that option, this feels way more unwieldy than a large list of unread feeds in Classic, and I’ve only loaded up about four feeds so far. A small fix, even if it’s off by default but available as an option, will go a long way.

Excellent start!

First and foremost, Great work!! I am a long time user of Reeder (I think something like 10 years or more, however long it’s been out) and I was really looking forward to this update which does not disappoint. First what I like: Clean, simple interface and reasonable pricing allowing me to import my feedbin XML with a pro membership. Worked like a charm and even pulled out a handful of broken feeds for me, great. The one thing I miss right away however, is the “endless scroll.” I used to love just tapping the first reeder link and viewing the text here in the app and scrolling endlessly until I found an article that really grabbed my attention. I’d like to see that come back in some fashion down the line. I’ll save any other feedback for after I’ve used it a bit more but great start right away!!
