Description

Splunk On-Call is a collaboration and incident management platform for on-call DevOps teams. Through a combination of increased situational awareness for all team members and tools that encourage passive engagement from relevant experts, Splunk On-Call expedites incident resolution while improving quality of life for the individuals who keep systems running 24x7.

Designed to work in conjunction with the Splunk On-Call service, the iOS application allows on call DevOps teams to:

*View a live Timeline of monitoring data that provides ongoing status updates, not just alerts when something goes wrong
*Be alerted of Incidents via push notification, SMS, email or phone call
*View, Acknowledge and Resolve incidents in your monitoring system from your mobile device
*Acknowledge and Resolve incidents directly from push notifications without launching app
*View contact information and team member presence directly in the application
*Chat about issues and contribute insights, even if you’re not on call
*Swap on-call with the click of a button
*Next on-call information readily available within the app, and using our Today Widget.
*Capture resolution details to expedite future remediation and build team intelligence around healthy system behavior
*Universal app works on iPad and iPhone

A Splunk On-Call account is required to use this application.

Victor Ops

It's an app. Whatever; it's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. If you're forced to use it I suppose you can get used to it, but it's really pretty useless.

They log and force you to look at millions of routine log events for things that are totally irrelevant, but the notification when -- heaven forbid -- some REAL event occurs is "meh". Seriously, their default notification sound for an alert is a half second of "mehhhh". Trailing off as if they were embarrassed to bring it up. Srsly people, it's a production alert, let us put some noise behind it!

But like I say, if you're forced to use it, it's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

Dated

The app is very limited. Even as a global admin I can’t assign on-call to someone for a team I’m part of which is unhelpful during critical issues.

As it relates to the service, overrides are bobo. As a member across multiple trams, if I create an override I am forced to assign a resource regardless if I’m actually on-call during that time the override is set for.

Splunk hasn’t invested anything once they took this over.

Unable to login

Worthless app as I’m unable to login through the app so have to login to the website.
