Plug was troublesome or maybe it was me but had to connect 3 times before charging started. Make sure plug us in really firm and hold it in and up til charging kicks in - the weight and length of the cable tends to pull the plug down causing it to not properly connect. Otherwise fast and convenient

EV Charger Pacific H’way Coffs Harbour

I was a fan of BP Pulse until I went to use the Coffs Harbour installation. There are two units. Supposedly 75kW. But with two cars connected you get around 30-32kW. That would be acceptable if it were not for the physical nature of where the unit is located. The bays are extremely narrow. On one side is a car door killing kerb that is about 33cm high making it impossible to open your car door. On the other are parked rental trailers so closed that it makes access very difficult again. The cables are heavy, but I understand why given the power load; but they are too short to easily reach the cars in compromised parking due to the high kerb etc. The units are not under cover and with Coffs heavy rain can make it a wet process at times. Most cars have to back into the bays to reach the charging cables. But if the available bay does not suit the side where your car’s charger connection is located then you are out of luck, as the cable will not reach. Just pray that the other car’s port is on the opposing side and the owner works with you to get the cars in the right bays so you can charge. BP should look at the Tesla charging setups and benefit from their years of experience.

Easy access and simple charging

Our second time visiting a BP Pulse and delighted with experience. The M1 is very slow with Boxing Day traffic and we were aiming for Tesla chargers at Pacific Fair and worrying about time to get their and charge we would have left. This stop was much easier to access, no queue on arrival and now happily recharging for the next part of our trip south.
