HomeSafe View: Live Swann DVR viewing on your iPhone and iPad
HomeSafe View supports the following features:
Multi-channel viewing with up to 16 cameras on screen at the same time (16ch view works best on iPads)
Play back stored recordings from your DVR on your handset or tablet (requires high upload speed internet)
Capture video from your camera live view to your iPhone to play back later
Capture single and multi still images and save these to your iPhone's picture library
Control PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) cameras remotely

Note: Current model handsets and iPads are recommended for high resolution playback and live viewing more than 8 cameras at once.

Currently supported DVR models (x will be 4, 8 or 16 channel depending on your model):
Other Swann DVR models will not work with this app.

Note: This app uses a data stream that will connect to your Swann DVR via 3G/4G or WiFi. When using 3G/4G, the video from your DVR will likely be considered "downloads" by your phone service provider and will contribute to any download limit your phone data plan may have. If you exceed any plan limits you may incur additional usage charges. Consult with your mobile service provider regarding the use of a video streaming app and how it may affect your plan.

Lacks functionality

The software is overly confusing and doesn’t even remember basic settings like picture quality. That’s when the camera feeds actually show up. Someone suggested that an AppleTV app would be good. I wholeheartedly agree but if they can’t get the software right on their own box (the Swann “wizard” is more of a rambling idiot), poor documentation and after how many failed attempts to create something user-friendly on IOS..? They need to focus on making it easier to use. Rather than “impress” me with how many buttons you can fit on a screen - give me the option to hide the ones I will never use so the ones I do are easier to find. Remember my choices and make it more reliable. If you’re looking for an “Apple experience” look elsewhere.

Unable to delete recorded recordings from iOS app

I have followed directions but there seems to be a couple things missing: the “delete” button and the “clear all” button. I’d think that was kinda essential to “delete” things. It appears in the Images menu just not in the Recording menu. Seriously? Does anyone QA your software releases? I can’t wait until any sort of update appears. Perhaps it might rectify this issue.
I agree with the former review that the app is overly complex to use. Somewhat unnecessarily so! C’mon guys, get it together.

App is ok but picture quality is bad

I spent around $2000 for the 4K ultra HD cameras with NVR and was expecting Super quality, clear, crisp images to show on each camera. The quality doesn’t even seem better than the 1080p cameras I purchased over three years. Even when I change the picture quality to main stream (4K) on the app, I really cannot see clearly that far away from the camera, even letters of number plate are hard to distinguish from about 5 metres away and that’s on a bright clear day.
I am using an iPhone X, so I wouldn’t have thought that my phone would be the main issue.
I am very disappointed with the cameras that I have purchased and the app picture quality. I didn’t expect this from Swann products.

The recording resolution on your recorder may have been reduced to allow for more recording space on your hard drive. The adjustment of the FPS and recording resolution will contribute to the quality of the image when remotely streaming. If you haven't already, please reach out to us and we will further assist you.
