I’ve noticed for a while that the usage data in the app is inconsistent, sometimes it’s inconsistent between the different views e.g. Daily and History but also when opening the app on different days the previous usage data that was previously displayed is absent and the calculations that are performed are incorrect e.g. consumption data that was displayed when opening the app previously is now not represented and therefore the app calculates credits according to the solar feed-in that was recorded when the actual usage should be displayed as costs incurred. While I don’t think this indicates a bug in the app per se and rather indicates problems with the data it is representing, I wanted to mention it in hope the backend system(s) can get the attention they obviously need.I also thought I’d include the following comment from my previous review:* I’d like to suggest that in addition to showing the total usage across each month and year, it would be useful to also be able to display the average hourly usage across each month and year. Having visibility of this information would assist in identifying the times of day across months and years that there are devices in the home using high amounts of electricity. This information would also assist customers to determine if they’re on the best plan based on their average hourly usage (i.e. different ToU tariffs).

Update, again: It appears it is more beneficial for Origin NOT to fix the app. Still no changes to a pathetic app that is window-dressing. Assurances that the app was being redesigned were a lie, as it would not take more than a year for a self-respecting programmer to develop a good app. Origin with all their money could easily afford MORE THAN 1 programmer, yet has not seen fit to do this. Still waiting…Update: you for feedback but nothing seems to be done with it! A year ago one of your customers voiced what all of us with solar were hoping for as well but nothing much has changed. Having been forced to change plans after expiry of the old one, I am even more in the dark than before, with ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE AS TO THE EXPECTED BILL. Any wonder we have no trust in either the developers or for that matter, Origin? Before changing my plan to “Solar boost” I had at least some idea about cost and future bill, but now ALL I get is “daily usage” info of Solar feedback in Kw and Kw used. No cost details. AND that is a hit and miss affair! Sometimes I see the data a day later, but often I have to wait 2 or more days. As an “account manage” app it is a failure, at least for MY plan, which surely can’t be THAT uncommon since a large number of people have Solar these days! Strange thing is I used to get all the costings! ALL that changed was that there was a changeover to a new plan at the end of the previous plan! Not happy at all…

Bills aren’t regular, the timeframes between bills change regularly from one month to 3 months and sometimes indefinitely, estimates seem about 20% off and even though we’ve got an upgraded smart meter we only get estimates on our bills. A couple of months after we get the estimate on the bill we then get another bill with their apparent actual recalculated reading. Sometimes you don’t even get your last bill at all but they’re still willing to take your direct debit with no indication on what you’ve paid for. Tariffs change regularly without any notice and the spike hour isn’t worth bothering with because you don’t ever win anything. We’ve tried the spike hour for 2 years now and have never received anything except free spins on a wheel that offers nothing but more free spins. The app seems to be a shot in the dark on what the bills could possibly, maybe or could be but they’re always wrong. A complete waste of an app especially if you’re trying to be power conscious considering power costs are ridiculous nowadays. I’m looking at now changing to a different provider that can tell me what my actual bill and usage is without gimmicks that don’t offer anything. I’m a veteran who can’t afford to budget for possible or estimated bills that offer a gimmick free spin of a wheel instead of actual usage data. This is a terrible company.

The predicted bill/cost per day estimate is still inaccurate. Been broken all year. How is it saying my cost per day is $1.20 when my daily supply charge itself is $1.19? My last bill was predicted around $110 but came in at $315. I don’t recall which update broke this, I think it was one sometime last quarter 2022. Please fix so I can budget properly. I’m also sceptical their readings are correct. I live in an apartment so my usage is quite low. I no longer work from home or have the oven on multiple times per day like I used to but my bills seem to be the same if not more than before. Can anyone explain how it’s the same when my computer is no longer on all day, no heating or aircon and no oven/stovetop on cooking lunch and dinner but my bill is the same or more?? I don’t know if they read the actual usage for my apartment or it’s a guesstimate which is highly incorrect given my usage is no where near what it used to be. The app doesn’t even show an estimate for gas, only thing using gas here would be the hot water but even then I don’t have hot showers, it’s basically just my dishwasher on once a week but the bill is still huge like they’re just estimating what other people are using in my complex?? Maybe I need to get an electrician to check everything’s ok
