After 3 days of trying to port my number from optus, I’m giving up. So, I have lots of experience using the app to submit support tickets, but none of using it to manage a phone service. Here is my feedback:
1/ navigating through the support ticket system is extremely slow. It takes about 30-60 seconds to load each screen.
2/ there is a 3-4 hour lag for responses from support. The responses are often ambiguous, requiring another question (and another 4 hour delay). There is no livechat support.
3/ there is no indication of support hours/days. Will i get a response tonight, tomorrow, or on Monday? Who knows?
4/ you can attach images to support tickets... in theory. However, the app rejects photos taken within the app for being larger than 2mb. And selecting ‘browse’ logs you out of the app.
5/ if you open another app while drafting a support ticket, the text you entered in the ticket will be lost, and you’ll be sent back to the main menu. Even if it’s just 5 seconds to reply to a text message.
6/ the app sometimes splits replies to support tickets into separate tickets, leading to a proliferation of tickets and confusion.
Such a disappointment - avoid for mobile
What a frustrating company!
I totally get that they are the jetstar of Telstra and therefore features and services are very minimal but seriously! If you have an app as the main way you want customers to manage their service including service request etc to save money then I think that’s a great idea. BUT MAKE IT WORK FOR GODS SAKE!
When it does want to work I’m still waiting 2/5 minutes for it to load the dashboard. The past week it hasn’t loaded or it’s taken that long I’ve given up. Either way very poor effort.
I would avoid for mobile service. Similar deals with much better service on the Telstra network like woolies. Also a mobile account you tend to utilise or monitor your account usually with an app. With belong that can become very tedious, time consuming and sometimes just impossible (errors).
The nbn is ok but the lack of service sometimes is difficult. For example I tried to determine (and still haven’t been able to) how long it takes for a speed upgrade to take affect. They even have a support page on their app/website which HAS NO CONTENT 🙄. The only saving grace I think is that on an unlimited plan you don’t really need to monitor your service that often (unlike a mobile) so you won’t be using the app that often.
App appalling. The way you “chat” for tech support appalling. The number they give you to call appalling (the message prompts just send you around and around and around without ever getting a person).
App doesn’t work, bunch of scam artists
I purchased a prepaid (or so I thought) SIM card from my local supermarket. It was only while trying to activate my service that it asked for my credit card information. Upon checking the packaging of the SIM card I bought, it only has that mentioned in tiny almost unreadable letters down the very bottom. In what world should I have to give my card details for a prepaid service? Whatever, I’ll just cancel it after the first month.
Oh wait, I can’t do that because the app doesn’t work, and the only contact number goes to a robot with no option to cancel the account or speak to a real person. If I signed up online, I should be able to cancel online. I’ve tried contacting through the app, only to have my support request closed before I can reply due to the app barely working.
This company is a scam, wouldn’t even think about using them. Absolute joke.
