It’s all about giving back

…….every person I have ever spoken to at the Blood Bank has been incredibly friendly personable knowledgeable and empathetic. I’m coming up to my 100 plasma, and due to my vein being a little bit passed its “used by” 😂date maybe, I was unable to give plasma the last time, but ready come in in a couple of days to give it another go. I felt like a failure, but they couldn’t do enough for me to say it’s okay, we will try again that is just one small example, but I have made some incredibly good friends there, and a lovely when I call you by your first name, without looking at the paperwork. It really is a great place and I can’t see why more people don’t go.. Give me a megaphone and I’ll go down the main road to tell them all about how good it is knowing you might be helping someone else when somebody did it for me or my family or friends in times gone by. So I don’t need to thank you, but I appreciate it. I THANK YOU ALL for everything that you do.

I really had a lot of trouble signing up through the application. I have a fairly good idea of what I’m doing with this sort of technology, and I expected that because I had donated previously that there might be some sort of miss match. That was easily sorted out with the telephone call which the application did suggest I make. However once my email address was entered into my existing data record, I found I was unable to verify my email address through the application. It continually failed to miss match against the emails that were sent. So I went online and completed the registration process there. Again I came back to the application to login only to find that I again had to verify which is fair enough. However the application failed to verify via SMS. No matter how many times I tried the verification process failed. That’s when it became obvious that the backend system is using Microsoft for user authentication. I had to give up using the SMS verification and revert back to re-validating my email address through the application. Finally after about my 10th attempt it worked. I roll my eyes and discussed as I encounter a lot of verification problems using Microsoft on some of my work accounts. It’s no surprise that it doesn’t work well here either.

Amazing app but one small bug

Hey guys, great app for a great cause. One small bug I’ve noticed though is that when bringing up your donor card in the app, while your screen brightness is automatically changed to 100% when displaying the donor card / wallet / barcode, when exiting the donor card, the brightness doesn’t return back to its previous level set by the user. It remains “stuck” at 100% and has to be manually reduced by the user via the iOS control centre.In every other app I’ve used where the “full brightness” trick is implemented (ticketing apps, wallets etc) the brightness is automatically reduced to the previous setting once exiting the screen where the barcode is displayed. Cheers!

Cheers for the app! It makes donating blood heaps easier—absolute game changer! I’m sure everyone at the Australian Blood Centre is a legend, inside and out. The app’s awesome, but it’d be even better if you could add the health check 24 hours before the donation to save donors a bit of time. Just a thought! Also, maybe throw in some credits in the app for people—like up to 3 hours of free parking or even a half-price burger from Grill’d after donating (pretty sure they'd be keen on that). I know everyone who donates is an angel and doesn’t expect anything, but little perks like these could make donating a more unique experience!

We want using our app to be as easy as possible so you can get on with saving lives. We update it as often as we can in response to your feedback and to improve our service.   This release includes general bug fixes and security updates. We’ve also resolved the barcode issue on the donor card that was affecting some users.
