Going digital ruined the customer experience somehow. Butchered the transition.

I just want to use the gym
The keychain fobs worked 100% of the time for entry in my experience. Digital app is a slower entry experience (takes about 10 seconds to open the door after it finally picks it up that you’re trying to enter). Even that is only 75% of the times you try to. Lucky that even outside of the staffed hours you can ring the bell much to the annoyance of other gym goers until someone eventually lets you in while you apologise and promise you are a paying member. What’s the point? The gym is littered with weights not properly put away and paper towel all over the floor. It’s a miserable experience. I don’t care though as long as there is a rack of weights free which there usually is. Only now I am irked enough to write a review after not only receiving a text message to update my app myself (how about an auto update?) that when I do reinstall the app the powers that be have managed to disable my access. Thanks Zap. Can’t wait to move gyms.

I just want to use the gym

My local gym changed to App access only replacing fob access. The App doesn’t actually work on lots of phones - at all! For those people they are no longer able to get in with their fob either!! Two of my family members who have paid memberships can’t get in anymore so will have to cancel their memberships. This App isn’t up to the job and without a back up way for members to get in their only option is to cancel and go to another gym. I’ve had to help loads of members stuck outside the door unable to get in as their App isn’t working for whatever reason. Zap need to find a better App or go back to the fobs!

Commmeee on get with the program like most the reviews, the fob was fine, but I get it we are pushing forwards ‘future!’ At least anytime fitness has the option to add to your iPhone wallet for easy of access. It’s like forcing me to keep that particular key off my keychain and hidden somewhere in my gym bag. Then when I want to use it I have to go find it, like there is workarounds with using shortcuts etc and links through widgets, but it shouldn’t be that hard. A major part of this was surely convenience? If another gym can do it why can’t we?

On the iPhone 17 series, the NFC reader is located at the very top of the phone - putting your phone’s back to the reader will only work sometimes as the connection is too weak for it to be consistent. If you have a 17 Pro Max it will not work at all as the NFC reader is too far away.Please update your app with new guidance sometime soon so no one else spends an hour at the door trying to work out why they can’t get in to the gym!
