Kogan Smarter Home 4+

App works great for the smart heater I have the only thing I’d prefer the app had for the heater was for it to be able to turn on when the room temperature get below a certain temp rather than having to try and guess what outside temp is the equivalent to the inside temp I want the heater to turn on. For instance in spring we can have 26 as the high and 11 as the low but it’s still 23 in my house at 10pm but come 2-3am it’s 16-17 and I’d like my daughter’s room to remain at 19-20 would be a lot easiest to just use the thermostat in the heater to trigger it to turn on 👍

My second robo vac type vacuum. This one wins hands down and I’m very surprised for the price. But there is a big problem to look out for. The operation of the vac is good. Mapping so far has been very good. Unit has not been stuck after 5 uses. But the fact Kogan advise this as being able to connect to google home, appears incorrect. I am sick of asking for help about connecting to google home and get same answer over and over. I have followed instructions exactly. Support page say once I have followed the directions in kogan smarter home and added smarter home to google home, the vacuum will be seen in google home app. IT IS NOT showing in google home, and I have been through the setup about 40 times. Very frustrating. There is a mention in instructions to “click setup a device that’s already setup” when using google home. That option is NOT there and I assume instructions relate to some older version of google home. I’m not a newbie. I have many devices connected and usable via google home. Lights, aircon etc. I’ve seen others also report this issue. Kogan please fix this connect issue by updating the kogan smarter home app. That been said I really think the vacuum itself seem great so far.
PROS: Vacuum seems to work ok with the app, has drawn map etc.
CON: Even after following app instructions exactly, to get it to work via google home, does NOT work. This was the main reason I bought this vacuum in the first place.

I’m disappointed in the timer function in the app. I would much rather be able to set my heater to be automatically turned on at a specific time and off at another, say 15:00-22:00, than turning it on when I’m on my way home and instructing it to turn off after 7 hours. Not sure if this makes sense to anyone that doesn’t already have the wifi heater and this app. The whole scene/scenario functions is as far as I can see pretty useless for me. Hoping I have just misunderstood this function or missed another.

Update
The app is now updated with a schedule function where you can schedule the heater to turn on and off at certain times and days. For some reason you have to have one schedule to turn it on and one to turn it off, but that is a minor concern.
