I had a really hard day yesterday and didn’t get to get my groceries from shopping. Came home, had a cuppa and breathing session. Tried to get milkrun app but my brain didn’t cooperate, called up and had a great guy guide me step by step to install app, organise my payment cards to phone and helped with starting my order. Excellent customer service! Thankfully! I actually ended up getting most of my needs and some great specials. More than I thought I could. Delivered to my door in 42mins , it was after 5pm and I was sure it would take an while due to time of day but 41 mins… dingdong! All packed carefully especially my bread which I am fussy about. Highly recommend Milkrun and will be using them regularly now and avoiding the hassle of supermarket shopping with the grandkids in tow! Happy Shopping. Thanks Milkrun. Happy Yiayia

Terrible app and company service

Okay, milkrun delivered my order to the wrong address and even had the nerve to send me a confirmation photo from the wrong house! This resulted in me losing a $75 order which frankly I can’t afford in this economy (I don’t know many who can) I was unable to contact the delivery person via the app to let them know (call wouldn’t go through) and the pre-generated messages were irrelevant and answered by an AI. After selecting a pre-generated option in lieu of making a complaint I was emailed a $10 coupon on my next order over $50. Once I replied and requested a refund I have been ignored ever since. I will be deleting the app and advising every single person I know to avoid it. I never write reviews or make complaints because usually I can just explain it away as someone having a bad day or a business being busy. But the complete removal of the ability to lodge a complaint, the disdain for both customers and workers is a real kick in the guts. I’m still subscribed to their mailing list despite multiple attempts to unsubscribe! So “Dave” the “CEO of milkrun”, stop emailing me and give me back my $75.

Good service, bad app on principle

I think that the service and product that Milkrun offers is genuinely quite good. It’s fairly priced (generally cheaper than Uber or DoorDash, though they often have offers), better reflects in-store availability, the shoppers are more competent, the orders are packed better, and it’s fast.Sounds perfect, right? Well, it would be if their app allowed you the basic, fundamental function of turning off notifications related to marketing and promotions. You simply cannot do it without disabling notifications altogether, which is a pain for an app like this where you need notifications when you place an order. It’s a basic privacy function. Just let us opt out.People may have good reason to want to turn them off too, as the notifications include alcohol promotions (yes, you can self-exclude, but if you see an alcohol promotion, ethically you should be able to easily go in and turn promotions off. A regular person doesn’t go straight to self-exclusion). They could also affect people recovering from eating disorders or other health conditions. Yes, this might seem like a stretch, but the point stands. Just let us turn them off.Personally, this turns me off using your service as I have to manually enable notifications when I make an order and disable them after it’s complete. An annoying task. Just give us a way to turn them off, even if we have to contact you to do it. It’s the only app I use without this functionality.

If you already have UberEats, which regularly offers decent discounts across multiple items, Milkrun does not give you much reason to use them (anymore).One of Milkrun’s genuinely useful features used to be the ability to order alcohol and groceries together. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case, so you may as well place two separate orders with UberEats. Probably not a big deal if you live in a house but for people like me who live in massive apartment complexes with no elevator it’s an absolute pain to have to deal with two deliveriesThe worst part, however, is the in-app live chat. Since it is a mobile app, you will probably be using your phone, yet the chat disconnects and marks you as “offline” whenever you leave the app or your phone goes to sleep. Waiting 30 minutes for a reply is one thing but having to keep the app open and your phone awake the whole time is ridiculous. It’s 2025, this sort of limitation has not been normal for years. Was the live chat coded in 2010?
