This app is used by my child day care. For its current provisions and offering it is fine. Some photos don’t load and it alerts me to new content when there isn’t any. This app is so many lost opportunities though. • family input, would be great to upload family input direct into the app. • child info, nappy changes, food and fluid consumption etc. this should be able to be recorded and viewed electronically!!• comments section for parents to post back live comments to journals for educators to share with kids. So kids can feel connected as well as parents.Improvements such as these could really make this app shine.

I don’t know if it is this app that is buggy or the provider (YMCA WA) that’s shoddy but my experience so far has been frustrating to the extreme. I have two kids and these holidays I had booked two days a week care for them well in advance to get the early bird rate. I made the bookings and double checked them and marked them off on a physical calendar. Then a couple of weeks later (past the early bird window) I logged back in to find that on one of the days I had booked in, one of my kids was booked in and the other wasn’t. I thought that was odd, but maybe I had made an error and so I rebooked my other child in for that day. Then a couple of weeks later we had decided to get a child minder for the kids instead, so I cancelled all their bookings (well outside the 2 week cancellation window allowed). I checked, double checked and triple checked all bookings were cancelled. Three days ago we got a statement from the provider which I (foolishly) didn’t check. I had had a query about a previous statement and thought this was just a “nothing owing” since I was 100% certain all was cancelled and had even told their accounts person as much over the phone. Then today money was taken out of my account for a future booking that I had cancelled!!. What is even odder is that booking had originally been made in the early bird window and should have been charged at $70 (if I had somehow made a mistake on my end and not cancelled it). But the statement and amount charged was for a non-early bird rate. Before you question my sanity this booking we were charged for was for Son #1 on Feb 1st. The booking that I thought I had “missed” and rebooked at full rate was for Son #2 on a different day. What’s even more frustrating is that there is no confirmation of bookings and no visible history/log of changes made. And therefore it is my word against the provider’s now while I try to sort out the mess. Very, very unhappy with this whole experience.

This app is fine albeit a little clumsy. Adding the following functionality for casual bookings would help:*option for app to remind parents of upcoming bookings especially if casual (our ASC has a big problem with non-notification of absences)*calendar displays bookings one child at a time and one booking type (before school care / after school care / vacation care) at a time. To see all casual bookings requires 3 different views per child. Please add functionality to view ALL bookings for ALL children in one screen*how many spots left OR book multiple kids in together (I have more than 1 child at the centre. The app requires individual booking. There’s no point booking one child in only to discover there isn’t space for another one of my kids)

This app and service is terrible. Parents and care staff alike are tearing their hair out right now. I am very computer-literate however it has taken me hours trying to enrol my child in a care service he has already been enrolled in and has been attending for a year now. Click “sign in” on the app for the first time and a message displays stating “The given credentials are incorrect. The email or password may be incorrect, or your account may be locked out”. Interesting considering I haven’t even entered an email or password on the app. I’ve literally just clicked “sign in” so I can then enter those details but that option just hasn’t been given so cannot use the app. I can still gain access on the desktop version however this system does not allow permanent bookings that are not on the same days of the week each and every week. There is no fortnight option which means I am unable to book next years after school care that I have been trying to log all day and need submitted tomorrow. There are plenty of parents that have alternating fortnightly care arrangements and none of them are able to make a permanent booking with this system. It also requires two additional contacts in conjunction to the primary carer so three people must be listed as authorised to collect the child or an emergency contact or you cannot lodge your enrolment. Place of birth, occupation and place of occupation must also be listed for both parents or guardians or again, it will not allow you to submit enrolment. A Dr with their address and phone number must also be listed if you want to enrol. The system also only allows up to 4mb for important supporting documents but also will not allow compressed zip files to be uploaded so additional time spent having to download additional software to compress documents that should already have been placed on the system. Literally have had to completely re-enrol my child with more information than what was necessary when they were first enrolled and I still cannot even place my permanent booking. Whoever developed this program is seriously out of touch and needs to review this system.
