Great concept, not so great app.

I am an owner of a car on car next door and have had a mostly great experience! However, I feel that the experience can be better with some improvements in the app. For example: Improved notification area where notifications load faster, Swipe to go back (instead of the annoying button in top corner). Why do I get a load screen between every page in the manage cars section? I feel like the app could remember the options in the next page without having to shove a loading sign in my face every time. Improve navigation for car management (doesn't go to 4 slides deep). The app shouldn’t need to load the browser for anything (this one is particularly annoying). Please add a car profile preview so we can view how it will look to others when editing the profile. When opening a notification from Home Screen, open the app to that notification instead of wherever the app was before.

You’re doing great CND team! Hoping for more improvements soon!

Getting a Notice of Damage

I just got an email saying that I liable for the damage of the caf I rented on Saturday, the email is attaching a photo from a far angle. I uploaded more than 15 photos at the pick up time and before I turned on the engine, and a picture that he attached is not in my Apple Gallery. The guy says I damaged the front windscreen. I called the case manager to review, he was unpolite and I believe I deserved a better customer service experience. He used a high voice and seemed no intention to calm my feeling. It is very dissapponting knowing that you should have checked all the photos that customer uploaded before reaching back. Instead of attaching one photo, why did not you attaching all the photos that the customer uploaded to your system when they picked up the car? I tried to explain and sent him back an email containg 16 photos when I picked up the car. I also sent some photos with my second phone so you can see clearly in my apple gallery with date and time the photos were taken. I took all of sides of the car, highlighting all the damages (when picked up the car) and suddenly received an email saying that those damage made by me. Truly dissapointing. Hope you can fix this and make an improvement. Thanks

We can definitely understand how upsetting this can be. Would you mind sending us an email at members@carnextdoor.com.au so we can review this? Just so you know, if you would like to dispute a decision we've made on your responsibility for damage, please see the following article in our Help Centre: https://bit.ly/3KlQfGz

SCAM of an app since Uber bought it, stole money, horrible customer service.

This app was great when it was car next door, I was incredibly happy with my experience. However the last time I used this app since uber bought it, was horrible and definitely won’t be using this app ever again.
This time there were hidden extra fees which made the trip cost way more than expected & I never got reimbursed for my fuel and when I reached out to customer service they made every excuse possible to not reimburse for the fuel but I did everything the same I did the first time I used it, they’re just greedy for money.
Use a different car hire app because this one is useless and customer service is terrible. I know the fault wasn’t on my end but they insist it was. “Customers always wrong” must be their policy. They steal your money then gaslight you instead of helping. In my 11 years of doing customer service that’s definitely not how we dealt with mistakes and situations. I don’t like leaving negative reviews but, my gosh.
I’ve also never had an experience this bad before and if you click on “recent reviews” you’ll find since selling to Uber almost every review has been 1 star reviews.
Don’t use this app, find another car hire.

We're sorry to hear that you had an unexpected charge. The trip cost includes both the time and booking costs, which are charged before your trip, and the distance charge and tolls, which are charged after your trip ends. For a full breakdown of your trip cost, please log in and view the trip details from your past trip.

For the fuel refund, our app instructs you to get an itemised tax invoice when purchasing fuel. We pass fuel costs to the car owner, so we need invoices that detail the fuel type, quantity, and total fuel cost. The instructions for refuelling are available in our Help Centre: https://bit.ly/3KUGIYe
