Davis’s Canadian Drug Guide for Nurses, 20th Edition is a comprehensive nursing drug reference adapted specifically for Canadian practice. Based on the trusted US edition, this guide delivers hundreds of generic drug monographs and thousands of trade names using a unique Cure & Care approach to medication safety and nursing practice.
Designed for both nursing students and practicing nurses, the app provides essential drug information needed to safely administer medications across the lifespan. The Cure section explains what the drug does, while the Care section outlines nursing responsibilities and the relationship between the nursing process and pharmacotherapeutics.
The guide includes high-alert medication flags, life-threatening side effects highlighted in red bold capital letters, REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies) icons, and extensive drug interaction warnings covering drug-drug, drug-food, and drug-natural product interactions. It also provides special considerations for geriatric, obstetric, lactation, pediatric, reproductive, and at-risk patient populations.
Canadian-specific enhancements include:
• Additional drug monographs approved in Canada but not in the US
• Canadian trade names for many medications
• Summaries of key differences between US and Canadian pharmaceutical practices
• Contributions from Canadian educators and reviewers
• Maple Leaf icons identifying Canadian-exclusive content
Additional clinical features include:
• IV administration guidance
• Pharmacogenomic information
• Patient and family teaching guidelines
• Appendix N: Combination Drugs
The app also includes FREE online learning and patient education tools:
• Audio pronunciations for 1,200+ drug names
• Medication safety tutorials with self-tests
• Interactive case studies with guided questions
• Video demonstrations for safe medication administration
• Calculators for BMI, dosage/kg, IV drip rates, metric conversions, and temperature conversions
No internet connection is required after the initial download. Powerful SmartSearch technology helps users quickly locate difficult medical terms and drug information.

Waste of a huge money. Advice: buy Davi’s Drug Guide from Unbound. In this app it’s difficult to see CLASS of meds. In the same app by Unbound you can easily see all necessary info-it’s very organized.
