Lack of Technical Support

The app is indeed much better and user friendly after the most recent update; but the app lack any technical support and I couldn’t reach anyone in Vodafone to help. All the employees aren’t informed with what to do or who to escalate to when there is a technical issues with the app. I have contacted “888” call center more than half a dozen time so far; eventually, the last call suggested visiting a Vodafone branch for technical support. I visited 2 different branches to find out that technical support staff are no longer available on Vodafone branches premisses. The customer service employee there directed to call “2828” for technical support. I called “2828” to find that this is an automated message that provides info about ADSL services. I searched through the app to try to find a way to contact the provider but nothing available.

The application is of very poor quality, one that doesn’t suit a reputable company like vodafone. Apart from the very hard UX and the disorganization of services scattered between tabs, and the lack of on-boarding and many other basic mobile app functionalities, I am most frustrated about two things. The app is only designed for users with mobile operator as Vodafone and neglects USB users, for instance, so that I can reset my password, I have to do it over 3G which is frustrating if I have the app operating on a phone with another mobile operator, and I can’t log in to see my USB usage. The other more frustrating thing, when I finally logged into the app, and pressed the menu, I was met by a totally black empty screen with no buttons for the services to click. Furthermore, the application does not display accurate information at all, but that is only regarding my USB package and usage. For example, my maximum data usage I signed up for was 20GB, whilst the app displays 40GB. While that is trivial, but it is very very unprofessional. Overall, I dread using this application, and while it should be an easy mean to do the most basic tracking and recharging of my service, the app makes it really hard for me to do so, and finally, I would NEVER trust an application like this with my credit card information. I am very very disappointed.

A couple of days ago, I stepped into one of vodafone branches here in Alexandria, Egypt. The agent ignored me while I was telling her what I want to do, and when she replied, she spoke in a very disrespectful way! When I came back home, I called the company to file a complaint. They didn’t ask for any details and they said someone will call me back in three hours max. No one did. I called back they said someone will call back in 24 hours max. Again no one did! I called back they said someone will call back in 72 hours!! I spoke to a supervisor who communicated in a very unprofessional way again mocking and ridiculing everything I said. I’ll definitely leave this company after having been a vodafoner for more than 15 years! They treat you as a distinguished customer only when they want their money; other than that, everything there is rubbish!

The service's reliability is appalling and unacceptable from a top provider.The app itself has a 99% failure rate, which means it won't work when I really need it to, i.e., for sending emergency funds or for paying for necessary bundle renewals. Added to this is the fact that I have found the official website is also unworking not to mention the lack of an official email address for me to make a complaint!This leaves customers stranded and forced to resort to outdated USSD codes, something that feels like working in the 2000s. We pay for fast, reliable service, yet we are persistently denied basic access.Vodafone should do something drastic about these elementary technical failures. It is absurd that it requires so much work to get basic services due to a "trashy app and unreliable service.".This is not poor service; it is outright incompetence. We're not living in the dark ages. Your failure to roll out a working app and website is an embarrassment to your company. Get your act together and give us the service we pay for, or be prepared to watch your customer base walk.".
