Worst app ever.

Please scrap this and bring the old app back into use. This is awful. With the old app it was so straight forwards, self explanatory, and easy. You just clicked where you wanted to be, journey planner, live map etc, you could flick backwards and forwards between the screens. With this, you don’t know where to click, once you go from map to find a journey, it just takes over the whole map, and no where to click off it. Have to come out and reload the whole app. I don’t know if there is a simpler way to do it, but why you would want to make things hard for people to use, I don’t know. To be honest, I’ve gave up on it. When I want to check a bus time now, it’s quicker to use google than fiddling about with this. You could at least put a live map back on as well. All you get on here now is a map showing you your route. No live map to see where the buses actually are. If it’s supposed to be, then it’s just something else that isn’t working. Also, on trip planner, the locations keep disappearing. Some days I can type in where I want to go, sometimes the location is already in the list, but other days the exact same location just won’t come up. Seriously, this app just causes extra stress to people at a time when things are already stressful enough? Why on earth get rid of the old app when it worked perfectly and there was nothing wrong with it, just to replace it with this useless thing?

Awful - bring back the old app!

Was forced to download the new app last month and have had nothing but problems since. Tickets never display, barcodes don’t scan. Latest issue is my ticket wasn’t displaying. Closed and opened the app several times only for the ticket to display but shows an error and no barcode when opened with 3 days left on the ticket. Won’t let you buy tickets either. Deleted and redownloaded the app thinking this would solve the issue but now it says my ticket is downloaded on another device!!! I have spent £8 on new tickets in the past couple of days all down to this horrible new app.

Arriva have advised that they are aware of and trying to fix these issues and that drivers should still allow you to board when showing them the app screen but I have been met with nothing but resistance every single time. One driver even patronisingly asked “are you SURE that’s the new app?” Despite me showing him the screen which suggests their own drivers don’t even know what their new app is supposed to look like weeks after launching!! I wish it was the old app as it actually worked!!!!!!

Appreciate initial teething issues happen etc. and I have been slow to voice my annoyance because I’m pretty understanding but it’s been nearly a month since it launched and it’s costing me extra money. Sort it out.

Going to start using First buses again

I paid £70 for a 4 week ticket and have only been able to use it for 2 weeks. The ticket was completely not showing up on the app, leading to me having to pay for taxis to work as it wouldn’t let me purchase another ticket. After uninstalling and re-downloading the app the ticket is now showing up but is saying it is activated on another device, which is not the case at all! I have made a complaint but it’s says it can take up to 10 working days to get a response.

I am so disappointed after having spent £70 on this ticket, I have probably paid over £100 for my travel so far this month because of this app! I was hoping I would be able to get a refund, but after reading other people’s reviews it’s looks like that might not happen.

I used to get First buses but changed to Arriva as the bus times were much more convenient for getting to work but the inconvenience of the app and the extra money I’ve had to spend isn’t worth it, I’m going to be using the First bus app again. Not giving any more money to arriva.
