BorrowMyDoggy connects local dog owners with trusted borrowers to help look after their dog. Anyone can join our community, but we all have one thing in common - we... SHARE THE LOVE OF DOGS Our aim is to leave “Pawprints of Happiness” on the lives of dogs and people. We truly believe dogs deserve the best life possible. For dogs, owners or dog lovers alike, BorrowMyDoggy is a win-win (or woof-woof) situation: Dogs receive more exercise, one-on-one attention and, mostly importantly, love. Puppies also benefit from more socialization by experiencing different sights, smells and meeting new people. Owners get peace of mind knowing their doggy is being taken care of by someone who loves dogs as much as they do, rather than for a profit. Owners have also shared how BorrowMyDoggy is an affordable and more kind option than kennels and dog walkers. Borrowers enjoy happy dog time! Spending time with a dog doesn’t just improve your physical health, but your mental wellbeing too. Just 15 to 20 minutes with a lovable dog can relieve everyday stress and leave you feeling more calm and relaxed. You can use the BorrowMyDoggy app to: HAVE A SNIFF AROUND Once you’ve signed up, you can use the app to search for dogs or borrowers in your local area. You can easily adjust your filters and availability to make sure you find a match that suits your requirements. MESSAGE AND MEET UP You can message other members to arrange a meeting (or a Welcome Woof, as we call it) to see if you’re a pawfect match. Trust is really important in our community, so we always recommend you get to know each other really well before a dog is taken care of by another dog lover. Pay and pray app

I love the whole idea of this concept but the website and app seem to be very basic and clunky. Plus you get different information on the app than the website. For example the website will tell you if your message has been read whilst the app doesn’t! It’s just a small thing but it’s quite handy to know.Also another annoying thing is you have to pay to communicate with someone, which I get but there’s no guarantee that after you’ve paid your money you will get any responses and if owners don’t pay then they can’t respond to your message, which makes it pointless as to why you would put your dog on there. I live in one of the larger cities in the UK and thought I’d have no problems getting to walk a dog and yet after a week I’ve had 0 replies dispute messaging lots of owners, although I get that during the COVID-19 means that everyone and his dog (pun intended!) is turning to sites like this.Overall amazing idea but could be better

I have a very Active dog, since purchasing him several years ago I now also have a baby & a toddler. This app is brilliant as it means we have been able to still give my puppy that little bit extra in terms of time & attention. We have connected with several dog borrowers over the year. My Puppy knows each and everyone of them & gets very excited when they come to visit. We’ve also met some really lovely people which is a nice bonus. Ironically my dog is so friendly I often run into people in real life who would like to “borrow” him, I alway refer them to the app as that way I get the security of a third party who has vetted the borrower first. The only frustration I have is the app doesn’t actually tell you when you have a new message. I get an email but that’s easy to miss & occasionally this has caused miscommunication. I imagine message notifications from the app is an upcoming development, just hoping it comes soon.

I pay for prime, mentioning this first because if I’m paying for a service this would naturally result in a higher critique in my opinion. The apps location services do not update properly. Customer service line was not available during their opening hours??? The responses I received through email were useless and took way too much time to resolve when issue should have been addressed in first instance but I kept being provided the turn it off and on again IT responses which did not investigate my issue. After several emails back and forth I was finally told my address was not entered properly. This should have been raised in the offset. I entered my address correctly and if more detail was needed there should have been a function to tell me otherwise before submitting.This wasted time as I was connecting with people who were not in my area and had to go through the disappointment after communicating with said people that we were not in fact close like the app was suggesting. What a waste of time!

I’ve used Borrow My Doggy since 2015, having had a dog growing up and missed their companionship, but unable to have one of my own in rented accommodation. I borrowed an array of sized and breed of dogs initially and formed lovely bonds with them and their owners. It’s the perfect safe option to both have interaction with a dog, if you can’t have one yourself, or as a dog owner to have a dog person look after your baby when you are unable. It was also a great way to see what kind, energy and size of dog I would want to get myself to best fit in my life. Since 2017 I’ve had my own dog and had a load of great people walk and care for her like one of their own. It’s been brilliant too for the dog as she is very easy going with a variety of other people and dogs. I could never put her in kennels when we went away, so it’s so reassuring to have her stay with borrowers, in the knowledge she’s safe, well, happy. And spoilt!

It’s the perfect safe option to both have interaction with a dog, if you can’t have one yourself, or as a dog owner to have a dog person look after your baby when you are unable. It was also a great way to see what kind, energy and size of dog I would want to get myself to best fit in my life. Since 2017 I’ve had my own dog and had a load of great people walk and care for her like one of their own. It’s been brilliant too for the dog as she is very easy going with a variety of other people and dogs. I could never put her in kennels when we went away, so it’s so reassuring to have her stay with borrowers, in the knowledge she’s safe, well, happy. And spoilt!

This one’s all about brushing up our alerts, with smoother fur and a shinier coat for push notifications. Stay tuned for more pupdates!
