We believe buying a new telly should be exciting and fun, so we’ve created this free app to help you answer that first and all-important question about which screen size is right for you.
The designs and sizes of televisions have changed dramatically in recent years. Thanks to new technologies, a modern 46” narrow frame OLED TV is approximately the same size as a 40” LCD TV from 2008. So you may find that a larger screen could fit into the same space as your existing TV without taking up extra room!

Useless app
Have to agree with the other reviewers, useless app. A complete waste of a customers time, the idea of the app is ok but execution is completely flawed. The only way to get anything sensible from it is to:
Select size of your current TV.
Reduce outline box to its minimum size then move closer to the TV with your ipad focused on the TV until the outline box fits the TV . Then select the size of TV that you want to purchase. Even then the the accuracy of the TV image Size is suspect. Viewing distance doesn't appear to have been taken into consideration.
Certainly doesn't do Currys any favours.
No stars, but I'm loving the retro vibe of this app...
Oh dear DSG. As a retailer of technology I expect any app produced by yourselves to actually work. Sadly, here, you have let me down.
This app seems to be named incorrectly. Rather than providing any information about a new telly (on an iPhone 6s Plus with iOS 10), it instead seems to be one of those 'use your phone as a torch!!' apps from 2010, which worked by making your screen go completely white.
I applaud the author's desire to rekindle the nostalgia of those early days of the first smart phone, in this 'illuminating' way, but actually, I just want to buy a new telly.
Think I'll go to Argos or John Lewis...
Doesn’t work, blank screen.
App has clearly been abandoned by developers - it was reported months ago as not working and only giving a blank white screen. I downloaded app today (21st June 2019) and all I got was the same. Tried closing down and re- opening with same issue. Don’t bother downloading.
