Improved but incorrect orientation
Some useful improvements in interface and functionality, however it no longer works in landscape orientation on the iPad.
Another Poor app from Synology
Latest update now make this unusable. Unable to now open surveillance and other features in desktop mode. Synology you know that an app is used for phones so why force users over to a desktop mode to manage the NAS where icons are so small and the minute you try to enlarge the screen nothing works. This is the worst app on ios available.
I’ve never been critical of Synology equipment but the apps seriously let the ds server down. This is the worst app from Synology that I’ve used. It passes you from app to web based to desktop view. The number of updates shown to be available for your ds server programs highlighted within the app don’t update or shown when you hit updates icon forcing you to connect to the desktop view which on an iPhone is unreadable or locks up.
Great Idea, Poorly Executed
Ok, so if you just want the basics, then this app is fine (hence the two stars).
However, if you want to get into the detail regularly, then you will find you are reaching for your chosen laptop/desktop to get there - the implementation of the Desktop mode has obviously not been sanity checked/tested. As soon as you go into an option within DSM Desktop Mode, you are zoomed in to a data entry field with absolutely no way of zooming/moving around the desktop... if you’ve just bought an 8 bay Diskstation, then you are going to be aggrieved at this app - it’s amateurish, at best!
If I’m honest, it’s an extremely disappointing ‘feature’ that a) is extremely simple to fix, and b) a surprise for such a very good NAS manufacturer. It just goes to show that you really can’t be good at both Hardware & Software..
Update this app, please, Synology - it really is a very simple and quick process to do for your loyal customer base...
