Some great features / Annoying Bugs

There are some great features on this camera. Namely the HomeKit integration and the auto-tracking features (which ironically don’t work if HomeKit is enabled).

Bug-wise there are a couple:
- if you leave the camera on for long periods you occasionally get a ‘piping’ sound, like static. It keeps going until the feed is stopped and started, then it’s fine. It’s not my camera, because if you connect to the same camera from another device while it’s happening, that other device doesn’t experience tbe popping sound.
- equally annoying, the camera restarts overnight regularly for firmware updates. The update time seems to be 02:37, during which the camera moves around (2k pan and tilt) and the connection from your smartphone is lost. These updates should be selectable so you can update manually and not lose your feed overnight.

Beware Geofencing Does Not Work

The geofencing option is a great thought as it automatically switches security devices on and off based on your location. Unfortunately this for not work unless you open the app, which kinda defeats the point of it. Just have contacted eufy customer services and they informed me it’s beta functionality only and so has know bugs should be fixed at some point. I see this same issue is present on the eufy community forums for the last 9 months or more so it doesn’t look like an issue they will resolve quickly if at all. Made me loose faith in the company and the brand overall. Disappointing 2 stars could be so much better!
Also as a smart doorbell it’s just not very smart, ok it sends notifications to your phone, and Alexa devices when someone rings the bell but that’s it, you can arm and disarm the doorbell or set any different modes etc so very annoying as you expect you would be able too, and when your out moving the front lawn every week, you have to get your phone out, turn it all offf and then after turn it all on again unless you want a million pocket pings. I would be ace if you could leave the house and say “Alexa disable doorbell for 30 minutes” but simply you can’t.
Decent device as stand alone door bell, not decent as a smart doorbell. Disappointing. 2.5 stars

Misuse of security notifications for marketing

I purchased Eufy's security products to keep my home safe and receive timely alerts for any suspicious activity. However, I am extremely disappointed with their recent decision to misuse these security notifications to promote their Black Friday deals. This is a blatant disregard for the purpose of these alerts and a breach of trust between the company and its customers.
Not only is this practice intrusive and annoying, but it also undermines the very purpose of having a security system in the first place. When I receive a notification from Eufy, I expect it to be related to the safety of my home, not an advertisement for a sale. This misuse of notifications could potentially desensitize users to actual security alerts, putting their safety at risk.
Eufy needs to recognize the importance of maintaining trust with their customers and prioritize the primary function of their products: security. I strongly urge them to reconsider their marketing tactics and keep security notifications strictly for their intended purpose. Until they rectify this issue, I cannot recommend Eufy's security products to others
